....but I finally have something to complain about. Got in my truck a few hours ago and there was a radio update. Did the update, as usual, I have no clue what was updated but that's ok, it always just works anyways.....until I plugged my iPhone in. CarPlay took 20 seconds to load instead of the typical 3 or so seconds. Just to check, I unplugged, rebooted both the radio and phone. Tried again, same result. All the while, if I press the Apps button it says that Apps cannot be used because CarPlay is in use. I wait it out for another 10 seconds or so and the CarPlay Icon appears in the menu and then works.

What a piece of junk. Should I take it to the dealer? Anyone have the number to 1-800-LEMON-LAW?

    /Friday Thread ;)

On a serious note. If you receive an update today, you might want to see if you have similar results and if so, just be patient, CarPlay will pop up. I'm sure it will get addressed in the next update.

I have been through Toyota with head unit issues, save yourself.. If you are having issues probably just go get your self an aftermarket one. Their headunits are terrible and their support is even worse. My truck went in 2 dozen times before they replaced the headunit, but it is actually something else. If I could start the process over again, I would just buy an aftermarket headunit.

Sorry if this sounds stupid. I have a 20 tech package. How do I know when an update is available? Will it automatically populate ? I think I had one in beginning and loaded itself... can’t remember if it was my truck or my wife’s 20 Rav premium package. Either way- I have no idea how to look for updates / download etc.

I know my iPhone pro had recent update and I noticed slight changes on car play. Have not seen nothing from Toyota nor had any issues . Got my 20 almost a year ago (11/23/19). So I assume if updates out would apply to my truck. Anyway I can decline updates ? Thanks

Random but speaking of BMW, my dad has a Z4, like a 2005 or something. After 12k miles the engine grenaded. Not just die, but literally blew up driving 45 in a city street. It was replaced under warranty of course, but I stay away from those guys now.

Obviously as a Tacoma owner I have absolute faith in your integrity, but I worry their sleazy lawyers will say you did it on purpose.
