    Hey TW,

Can anyone tell me the name of this type of bolt? It's used to secure the middle back seat bracket on my 2005. The thicker part is 8mm, I believe. Also does anyone know if it's available in a longer size? Thanks!!

Flange head bolt. My guess is it's a M8x1.25. 1.25 is the thread pitch. You should be able to get longer ones at any hardware store that sells screws, bolts, and nuts. Purchase them with the same markings on the head face as the original, (8.8, 10.9). For lack of a better term, the 8.8/10.9 tells us how hard or how much torque the fastener will take or capable of. If no markings on the head you better see Toyota.

There are two lengths of bolt that are otherwise identical in the rear seatback/headrest assembly - one is for the headrests themselves, and another is for (IIRC) the rear seatback assembly. I wanted some longer ones myself for an interior modification and the parts list was ambiguous, so the parts guy and I had to scratch our heads and point at the diagrams for a while to figure it out.

Thanks for the replies. deanosaurus-- Where you able to find the longer one? That is exactly what I'm looking for.

The dealership parts guy and I took some printouts from the Big Computer and went out to the truck to figure it out, since the diagrams were a little vague without looking at the truck for reference. I'm really sorry I don't have part numbers for you!

common metric bolt found at any hardware store for less than a buck a piece. Dont be worried about the thinner tip, thats just to make assembly on the line easier.
