How much haggling did it take to get them down that far? I’m in NJ/PA border and nobody wants to budge off msrp for trd Off Roads

It took a bit but I also wasn’t in a rush. They gave me a awesome price for my trade in too! 28k for a 2017 SR5 Tacoma 4x4

they had a 2020 OR 4x4 that I was interested in but sold it before I could say yes. They were giving me 6k off of that too. So they asked if they can do the same for a 2021 would I do it and I said yes so I had to wait a week but I got the 6k off and a 2021 truck

    2. MSRP =

    4. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate = $34,796 (35796 - 1000)

    9. Kelley blue book trade-in value = NONE
    10. Trade allowance(amount given for trade) = NONE

33k OTD would be a pretty good deal!

Tried to talk my local dealer down to 36k for a 2021 Army Green OR 4x4 DCSB with all weather floor mats, tech package and led headlights (MSRP $40,014) but they said not likely. Gonna sit down with them tomorrow.

I have a deposit down on a 2021 AG Trail Edition 4x4 in Virginia Beach, VA with factory mudguards and factory roof rack. Hoping to get some opinions on whether or not it seems like something to chase down before it's too late to back out. Production has already been delayed once.

    MSRP: $38,783.00
    Dealer Discount: -$1951.00
    Toyota Discounts: -$1750.00
    Taxes, Titling, Fees: $2361.45

    Balance Out-the-Door: $37,443.45

I have the same truck being allocated for me. Army green trail. No roof rack or mud guards. MSRP $38,255. They are asking $36k before TTL. I’m going to try to get another 1000 off, but I don’t think I have much room to negotiate. Another dealer down the road has a similar config to what you’re looking at - army green trail edition, with roof rack, bed extender, wheel locks, and mud guards. They won’t budge off MSRP, which is 39,163.

I’ve emailed all dealers within reasonable driving distance and they all say the trails are being snatched up.

If you’re going to mammoth I recommend the 4wd. Resale value will be higher as well if you ever sell

Toyota web site says $1,095 when I build one but the spec sheet from a dealer that I have says $1,175 for the 2021 Tacoma destination.

Wondering why the difference.... Toyota website should be accurate since it's the same destination fee all across the board.

I don't know how you guys are able to get the dealers to discount that much off of MSRP. Here in Reno, the 4x4 Tacos are hugley popular and even in Commiefornia in places like the Bay Area or Sacramento they won't budge off the asking price. I guess they figure that if you don't buy it, the next guy will. I was able to haggle a grand off the MSRP on my '21 AC OR, but it took me a bit of doing.

Hey 3rd Gen owners, looking for some info. I'm in need of a new Tacoma, I totaled my 2008 Tacoma this past Thursday (RIP), 350k miles it owed me nothing!
I'm looking at the 2021 DCLB 4x4 Off Road edition price is 40k, it's a minor thing but does the truck come with 4 bed cleats or is that a separate purchase? The truck description is unclear just thought someone here would know. Thanks in advance.

So I had an interesting interaction with the dealer yesterday. I'm looking for an OR MT, and have been talking to them for about a week now. I've asked them to see what they can get their hands on that meets that criteria and each time, they've come back with ONE vehicle, rather than a selection of what's available. Is this an indication of how slim the pickings are, or some goofy sales tactic? First was a green one which I referenced earlier in this thread, and this time a cement one with just LEDs and All Weather package, which is basically all I want.

They asked for a deposit to get the vehicle delivered to them, and then here's where I want some clarification: They said they would search for similar vehicles but the accessories or packages may vary from the vehicle they showed me based on what's available. They were unwilling to lock in a price for this specific vehicle that they searched for, which is built, has a VIN, they pulled up on whatever database they were looking at to see available inventory, etc. I know these things are selling like hot cakes, but is this typical behavior? Are they just asking this in case they call the inventory Monday and this one has already been reserved by another dealership?

I don't know the answer to your question but if you're not in a hurry, tell them what you want and order it. Team Toyota told me 6-8 weeks. I'm willing to wait if it's the truck and package I want/need. They want to sell me a 2021 TRD Off Road that they found with $1300-$1500 in extras I don't need or want, I told them I will pay for that truck minus the extras but they refused.

I think you answered your own question. If the particular vehicle they pulled up winds up being sold before you make a decision they don't want to get locked into a specific price. I learned a long time ago not to dither around too long on things like this if you are serious about it. I have no idea of how well these are selling, but I do know that Toyota has special financing and a $1K rebate which might be responsible for moving inventory faster, so there is no gaurantee that any particular truck would be available beyond when they actually pull it up.

Yeah, this one is appealing because it doesn't have any extras like that - just the two I want. If this one doesn't pan out for whatever reason, I will probably pursue that route.
Yeah it makes sense, just kind of frustrating when I'm trying to lock down a price before I hand over money for a deposit. Maybe I'm being a bit unrealistic in that regard, but this will be my first new car, it's a lot of money, and I want to get what I want without paying for extra stuff.
