Any Difference between Trans & Transmission?

    trans usually mean transmission, but when going in for a tsb, you never tell them to do the tsb because its a update. If your not having the issue listed in the tsb they cant do the tsb. Just because its a update doesnt mean they will do it.

    What you need to do is tell them your having the issue outlined in the tsb, but not mention the tsb. Then let them find the tsb and they will perform it.



    Now on to your actual listed item on the ticket.

    C/S means "customer says"
    So that line reads as you telling them there is a update for the trans, and them replying "no update for transmission".

    No no, dont bring it to them. Tell them that your truck is having the issue listed in the tsb, cars and trucks are not like your phone, they dont just push updated software because its there. You have to have the issue to get the update. So you need to tell them your truck is shifting weird or whatever it says in the tsb.

    In the past , members had to " show " the dealership the TSB or at least give the dealership the tsb number to understand what the owner of the truck is talking about . Showing them the tsb is common .
    As mentioned above , Tacoma World knows about tsb,s before the dealerships do.

    While yes it can help (said to tell them your having the issue in the tsb), you cant just go in a say "there is a update for this, please update it" - Thats what the work order posted pretty much says. You need to say you have the issue, then yes you can tell them there is a tsb for it.

    Could be wrong, but I thought that when most TSBs are done they put a sticker on the underside of the hood?
