This is our dog Lola; almost 3 year old corgi...wife wanted one so we got her. Crazy amout of energy, needs to say hi to everyone and packs a bark at only 22 lbs
Everyone thinks she’s still a puppy due to her small size
I’ve never had a dog prior to her and glad/happy to have one

Awesome. Probably full of endless energy. If I may give you a word of advice I wish I would have received when my chocolate was a pup..go easy on her joints until she's two. My girl is wrought with arthritis and has had major surgery on both of her back legs after two ACL blowouts. Vet told me he sees it all the time in sporting breeds. Owners letting them do too much retrieving, endless running, jumping up and down into backs of pickup trucks and other obstacles and overall too much aggressive play when they are developing. That was me exactly.

He explained to me damage to the joints occurs during this time of bone and joint growth and will most certainly result in arthritis that can cripple a dog in later life. Layla started slowing down around 6 years old and now at 9 she needs meds after a half a mile walk and is usually in some sort of pain limping and walking slow on a normal day. She also no longer chases her ball which she loved doing endlessly. My 15 year old yellow, who never had an interest in being a lab when he was young, is issue free. Whish I new then what I know now know. Just thought I'd share.

There's no slowing her down right now, but im pretty well experienced in alternative exercises due to having a very high drive working breed too. Both her and my Dutch will chase a ball until they can't so I find other ways to exercise them like tracking and finding my spouse, finding treats hidden throughout the house and puzzles that dispense food

My dogs don't get in the truck bed or really jump on much of anything because I refuse to teach them that they can...if the dutchie realizes he can jump, the fence in the backyard becomes a suggestion instead of a barrier

This is Hank, he’s a 1 yr old (?) rescue. We’re told he came from Tennessee, we adopted him this summer after being dog-less for nearly three years. It’s easy to forget how much joy (and frustration) they bring. @Mossyjaws don’t wait as long as we did...you’re not replacing a friend, just making a new one. 922ABECE-9DBE-49ED-9375-07C50EB74B78.jpg

We got one for our older dog Max. Took him a few days to warm up to it but that's where he spends 90% 0f his time now.

Yeah, we'll keep working on this. But why use the bed when there's a couch?
