I’ve always been a 2-stoke enthusiast as well. This is one sweet machine though. I’d be afraid to ride it, it being so rare. And yes the Ducati motors definitely have a distinct sound.

That’s a dream bike of mine. A 2-stroke screaming road racer made famous by Kenny Roberts. They stopped selling those in the USA due to emissions with 2-strokes, right?

Question about the sYc clone, a guy I know built a 427 NICKEY Nova clone and was told that he had to take the NICKEY logo off of it, probably something to do with copywrite infringement, your buddy ever run into that?
I know NICKEY is spelled with a backward K, but I don't know how to do that!

I doubt he had an issue. That car was the only Yenko clone he ever did and once it was done it sold in a heartbeat and shipped across the country. Plus, I watch the big auctions regularly and have seen Yenko clones go through badged as such.

Correct. I believe the US stopped importing them around 1984, during the first gen of the 'RZ', (aka N1 if naked/F1 with a fairing). The 2nd gen bikes (N2/F2) started in 1986. Here in Canada, they continued until 1990. The one above is an '89. The color is 'Faraway Blue', and was only available for '89-'90.

 

Yeah, I thought that blue was a custom color. Most were yellow and black or white and red I believe. Love that blue and even more rare.

Ha ha. Not the same car. I wasn't paying that much attention at first and wondered why it sounded so different going down the track the second time.

The car in the second pic has the 195 ci. four cylinder which is simply a 389 with one bank of cylinders lopped off.
