I totally understand that. I was in the exact same boat. I do a couple of drives to visit family on a pretty regular basis where I go through some areas where I'm pretty sure there is signal (cause Pandora will usually work) but it isn't good enough to make a phone call. That's great if all I'm doing is listening to music, but even that doesn't work 100% of the time. If I were to have any kind of need, I don't have confidence that I'd be able to make a call. So my hope is that I can get a solid signal in those areas.

One thing that I think could be better....once the unit is mounted, it's pretty much a permanent mount. Unlike the coax cable that goes between a CB radio and the antenna, the OTR antenna is permanently attached to the cable. This isn't a big deal if you plan to run it full time, but you can't remove just the antenna. Ideally, you would have this mounted on a roof rack with a folding bracket so that it can lay flat. I don't have a roof rack, so that isn't an option. I'm planning on using a CB antenna mount at the back of the bed, but it will be some work to move the antenna if I decide I need to locate it somewhere else.

My first thought was that I would order the unit and get all the cables run inside the cab and have everything connected. Then just add the antenna whenever I'm ready to use it. Unless I can find an easy way to run and conceal the cable, that won't be happening.

    PM Replied.

Thanks @CowboyTaco for arranging this group buy! Their chat support helped me with a few questions and squared me away with the code last night. Looking forward to getting it installed and put to the test in the wild.

So for the laymans, like myself, you got 2 more bars!

For the more technical, the last 4 numbers improved. Though, I have no clue what those numbers mean.

My OCD is acting up. I see the rubber plugs under the driver's side of the cab will probably be just fine to run the antenna wire. Under the passenger side is a rubber ... tubular grommet ... (if that makes sense) where several wires run into the cab. Does anyone know a part number or proper name for that rubber thingee? I've tried searching on-line parts ordering systems with no luck. Thanks.

I ran my CB coax through the grommet under the driver seat. Probably 7 years ago and have never had an issue with it...even going through deep water crossings.

With respect, sir. I'll keep your advice as plan B. I realize perfect is the enemy of good enough. I have plans to run other wires into the cab in that neighborhood and was looking for a more purpose-built solution.

No disrespect taken. Everyone should do what works best for their situation. I was simply providing info on what has worked for me.

You'll have to submit for a quote on their website. Just mention the Tacomaworld group buy to get the discount.

Seems as though Wilson changed up some of their policy and are requiring vendors to provide quotes on certain models. I'll post more info tomorrow after I clarify a few things.

Thank you @CowboyTaco for setting it up. I will gladly give business to someone with a soul instead of Amazon.
I am fine with requesting quotes if they are responding to us, so I will give that a shot in the morning.

That was super easy! Got a quote and already ordered their Reach OTR kit just now. Thanks again for the excellent price!
