We got a motor and trans sitting in the garage. Thanks Todd, you were a pleasure to do business with.

Now the old Mastercard is fixin to get a workout. Ordering parts is one of the best stages of a build, then you realize how much you spent and you still have a shit ton of work left to do.

Ordered up a transfer case adaptor from Marlin so I can run the older gear driven T-Case with the R-150F, have a new transmission rear seal coming too. Got a clutch and brake pedal assembly on the way too.

Once I have the 22re out I'll collect all the wiring and get it sent to Toy only swaps for the swap wiring harness conversion. Still deciding on the motor mounts. The stock frame mounts won't work and most 3.4 swaps require cutting the hood or a small body lift to clear. But, there is a guy on Facebook that makes mounts that a supposed to clear the hood, I may go with those or add a scoop.

If I can find 2 good T-cases I may go dual cases. I'm going to need a transmission mount and the one for dual cases is only a couple bucks more.

After giving it a lot of thought, I think I'm going t go with a single 4.7 case. With the automatic a single 4.7 might have been too low for general non-rocks 4lo use. But, with the 5 speed it gives me 5 forward low range gears to choose from. Now to decide between a prebuilt case from Trail-Gear or to rebuild one myself. The parts for the rebuild, 4.7 gearset and 23 spline input are around a grand, so depending on what I can find a used case for. Trail-Gear is having their Black Friday sale and I can get a completely re-build 4.7 case with the 23 spline input shaft for 1400 shipped. With all the parts I need this puts me close to my budget. I am a little hesitant to buy a big $ part before the motor is running, but I would need it anyway. The single case would most likely limit needing a new drive shaft to possible the rear. The front should be good as it has a ton of slip built into it and I can retube the front myself.

I'm going to call TG this afternoon to make sure the combo I'm looking at will work with my setup. I'm also going to seeif their crossmember for dual cases will work with a single. That way if I deside to add a doubler down the road I won't have to re-buy that part.

    I did a little reasearch on this and found a calculator. With 37's it would be 2818 @ 70. With 39's :eek::eek::eek::eek: It would be 2673 @ 70.

So I need another transmission. The biggest questions is keep with an a340e or go with an a750e and make a new trans crossmember and get my driveshaft shortened.

You could kinda sort of manually select your gear in with an automatic too, but that's why I liked the 6R80. It had a manual bump shift mode built into it. The problem I was having was figuring out if there was some way to tell what gear I was in through the OBD2 port or if I needed a stand alone transmission controller with a display to tell.

I'm all in on the 5 speed at this point. The crossmember, t-case adaptor and a 23 spline yota case with 4.7 gears are on the way.

I did need a couple plugs we didn't grab from Todd's truck. But, here's pulling them and mailing them over.

Only have two critical parts to order, motor mount plates and the harness. I'm going to get a t-case mounted parking brake too. The current setup sucks and I need a good one with the manual tyranny and eventual disc brake conversion out back.

Yup, I saw that. You'll be glad you got those 4.70s when you put that thing on 39s or 40s. At least you won't have to replace the clutch twice a year. :D

Just got a note that the transfer case won't ship until the 2nd week of next month. Which is fine, no way i'll have the harness back before then.

Spent a odd day at the range with @michaelrussell in Dade City Saturday. As I was about to sign in, an old guy, even older than me took a tumble and gave himeself a bloody lip which freaked everyone out. Guess he was okay though because after sitting for a while to get his bearings and make sure he wasn't concussed, he left under his own power.

I finally got my reflex sight on my pistol half assed zeroed. I say half assed, because it was dead on on the rest, but was shooting just to the left with just me. Played with my stance a little but I couldn't get it figured out. I'm pretty sure if I went Shooter's World Tomorrow, and shot at a human silhouette target I'd be dead on. I just don't do well on round targets with pistols. I always shoot tighter and close to center mass or the head than I ever do on round targets. It's weird, but it is what it is I guess.

Thorny Mike got there right as I was breaking out the AR. I finally got that reflex sight on the AR sighted in @50 yrds, or at lest close for when I choose my primary defensive load, after the scope change. After that, I had a surplus of A2520 powder and 69gr SMK bullets that the AR didn't care for so I loaded up a hundred rounds of them, using what Sierra said was an over pressured load for an AR, but was the max pressure load for a bolt gun. Accurate told me it would be fine and it was just Sierra being cautious. I found it was a bit of both. There were light pressure signs on the case head, but they shot fine. Good news is that those crappy Match Grade Winchester primers the Creedmoor kept blowing out work fine in the AR, even with the over pressure 69gr loads, so I didn't waste my money after all. Anyway, I'm going to play with some different powder and try to keep the bolt gun specs up to 3000 FPS (which equates to only about high 2700 FPS in my 18" barrel) since it appears the faster they go the more accurate the 69s are.

Edit: Sorry, the .663" 10 shot group I shot was with 52 gr SMKs at 50 yards with the reflex sight. Dunno that it's all that impressive MOA-wise, but I think that's pretty damn good with a 1x reflex sight, shooting from an uncomfortable position.

I dislike that range though. The benches were built for people well over 6'. I felt like I needed a booster seat and ended up standing in an awkward position for shooting and my body paid for it when I got home. I was hurting like hell.

Was good to see Thorny Mike again though.

I went to the range for the first time since moving here a year ago this weekend.

Got the gas block tuned on the .50 Beowulf I built and then did a bunch of plinking with my 10/22.

Me and some work buddies shot skeet for 4 and a half hours after that. Was a lot of fun but with ammo prices the way they are I just don't see it becoming a regular thing
