At the end of my race I thought I fucked up. I could hardly bend my knee and it hurt pretty bad. Next day it was fine.

Hopefully taking a full week off and going super easy on it for the last couple weeks prevented it from getting too bad.

Its my fault for not properly preparing for hills. My body has a right to be in protest.

Totally get that...though these deer and the cover there is no shot really longer than 70 yards; I took this guy at 55 yards and it’s all still hunting; so exactly like bow hunting.

I go back and forth on bow vs rifle. For the reasons you state it is really appealing, but bow hunting is also way more likely to wound an animal due to deflected arrows, etc. The animal having a quick death is really important to me; this guy dropped immediately when I hit him.

I think my balance is really hunting as if I have a bow but with a rifle.

The only advantage of a bullet is knock down power, but a bad shot is a bad shot. My cleanest kills have been with a bow looking back on it.

A blade cuts an animal 2-4x that of a bullet.

@strengthordie @Travish325 what would you consider your worst event in comps? Did you sign up for anything local or actively look for comps that had stuff you’re good at?

Used to be anything overhead, now everything sucks equally.
Only 3-4 comps in the state a year so no picking and choosing. Plus if I only picked comps with good (for me) events, my weakness would never improve.

Worst event for me is deadlift or log. I'll sign up for anything to gain experience.

Feeling pretty good today. Knee is feeling better for once so I'm pretty excited.
Also starting a new program today, lets see if it works.
It's a hypertrophy program so we have to see if I work, I normally hate hypertrophy programs but decided I'm gonna give it a try yet again.

He's doing great - will be 6mos old next Tuesday. Really hard to believe it has been that long already. Feels like we just got home from the hospital with him. Just maybe with a little more sleep now. Is yours here yet or soon?

Does anyone have joints that pop without pain? When I do a windmill motion with my left arm, I can feel movement/popping in my shoulder but it’s never brought on pain or discomfort.

2 weeks as of today. Still struggling with finding balance with work, marriage and now being a father while trying to find time for the gym.

you got little man hanging out with you in your home gym? Lol

My left shoulder has a tendon that snaps back and forth... Never had an issue with it, or any associated pain :notsure:

My dogggg. What up?! Still slinging lights?

and that might be what I have. Not sure if it’s something I can even fix or if it’s something I should worry about when it comes to heavy weight

    Congrats!

Yes actually I will have him out in the gym with me sometimes lol. He will chill in one of his many baskets or bouncers. My wife is still on maternity leave (she took a full year) so she keeps him all day while I work (luckily, from home) and then I have the full home gym set up so it's easy to sneak in workouts, I just try to avoid nap times so he doesn't wake up to me slamming weights or loud music.

It gets easier. He's just now getting to some consistent sleep patterns. I do not miss the up every 2 hour feedings :bored:

Yo! Very much so! I'm quite active now (way more than I ever was before). You just must not be looking in the right corners of the internet lol.

If you aren't experiencing un-comfortability with it I say YOLO. That said I am no doctor.

ALSO! Almost hit 225 on axle finally. Got it up but failed lockout. It’s so close I can feel it. Comp weight is only 205 but it’s a personal goal.

Pro tip: post old videos or stay stealthy when getting close to comps to keep your competitors on their toes
