spindles + coilovers??

from what i understand....the lift spindles lower the tires toward the ground, while keeping all the hookups and connections at stock. then the coilovers lift it like it would a stock vehicle. the lowering spindles on other vehicles work the same way by raising the tires and keeping everything else stock

 

Cant run a spindle lift on the second gen. 4x4's. There is no place for the front shafts to pass thru.

 

Methinks your geometry is off.

 

Lift spindles have no provision for the front drive shafts to pass thru. You can put the lowers whereever you want, the drive shaft cant pass thru a hole that does not exist.

OK, now thats different from what the OP was talking about. He was talking about the 3.5" lift spindles. Yes, 6" spindles have a provision for the front shafts.

 

I spent the time to do this so I'm posting it anyway. The red line is pretty much where the front axle would be.


So yeah, spindle lift + Gen 2 + 4x4 = outa luck.

 

Probably closer to $1000. They're expensive for several reasons:
1. Development time
2. Cost of manufacturing & materials
3. They're a critical component so a lot of the above goes into them

Look at the prices of upper control arms and you'll wonder the same thing about the price, but all you have to do is break once and you'll find the expense is worth it.

But even after upgrading it's important to remember that nothing is unbreakable.

(not my truck, but he mangled his Allied spindles on the same trip I broke my UCA)
