Love nostalgic drag races. Especially [ponchos] Pontiacs facing off. Sorry that’s not politically correct these days.

I'm impressed...a 14.69 dial-in with a 195 four-banger in a car that probably weighs ~3200. Nothin' to be ashamed of there! Looks like a girl driving it, too...

1965 GTO convertible version is a rare beast.

Not quite, but the right idea. IIRC, the Buick 90 degree V6 (3.8, 4.1, and other displacements) has its roots planted in the early '60s Olds/Buick all aluminum V8. The Chevrolet 90 degree V6 is essentially a small block Chev with 2 cylinders lopped off. The 4.3 (262 C.I.) has the same bore/stroke as a 350, the 3.8 (229) the same as a 305, and the uncommon 3.3 (200) the same as the 267 V8 engines.

Oops, I was thinking of the Chevy 4.3 Liter V6. Which my brother had years ago in a 1989 Astro van. He told me that, that motor was basically a 350 with two cylinders lopped off.

To confuse things even more, Chevrolet also made 2 different 262 C.I. (4.3L) V8 engines...one in the mid '70s (usually found in the Monza), and one in the mid '90s (in the B-body cars, and aka the 'baby' LT-1).

The rare-ness is identified by the square case, and highly sought after.

No, I've been around since the beginning of this thread, I posted a pic of my ride on page two. Here it is again though.

I bought it in Nov. of 1984. It's a driver quality car, the pictures hide a few flaws but that way I don't have to worry so much about that first paint chip.

Very nice 1967 convertible. Is it an HO? 4-speed or auto? A buddy of mine just sold a 1967 hardtop HO 400 car. A driver as well. My 69 was an auto with a Hurst dual gate, his / hers shifter. And sorry I guess I’m the newer guy in this very lengthy thread. ;)

Thanks, not an HO, it originally came with the standard 335 HP 400 4-barrel and Muncie 4-speed. When I got it the original engine was gone and replaced with a '69 400. Some years back it got a .035 overbore and a stroker crank for 462ci. of tire shredding fun. Still has the 4-speed.

    Yes sir!

    1995.
I added the Marchesini Magnesium 5 spoke wheels and floating rotors and open clutch cover.
It was beyond my experience level but was really fun!
