Yeah, I bought a pack of 12 inch long spray tubes a couple years ago. They work great.
But, I think the smoke test is the way to go.

Re check your hoses on that side, I had this problem once and it was the boost gauge T fitting.
And the bypass seal on the supercharger on the lower section and PCV hose
and valve cover blow off hose, clamp them extra tight.

Sounds like just a vacuum leak tho,

I’ve seen gray superchargers with vacuum leaks from the circled areas at work a few times. Spray these areas with carb cleaner or brake cleaner while it’s running and see if the idle changes

I think the air intake sensor is part of the MAF,
Maybe try cleaning the MAF sensor, the two sections and make sure the methonal nozzle is not part clogged spraying the
Methonal towards the MAF in a stream instead of a mist

A few question for the long term supercharger users.

What kind of life are you getting from your nose seal? I bought a new supercharger with 7th injector from URD. I'm still using the stock 2.37" pulley. The OEM seal started leaking and flinging oil on to the hood at 1970 miles. I replaced the seal with a Vitron seal. Now the Vitron seal has 7000 miles on it and is weeping oil but not flinging. This doesn't seem right???

Should I carry a spare supercharger belt? Or are they as reliable as the other belts?

I would like install a mechanical boost gauge temporarily. Should I tap into the vac/press line before or after the 7th injectors MAP tube restictor?

    As a side note.

I have a pretty good 7th injector tune that eliminates almost all of the low rev ping.
For anyone who is interested in trying it PM me.

    Specs of the tune:
    2004 5VZ-FE with auto. tranny. 2nd gen S/C with 2.37 pulley.
Tuned for Cali 91 octane at sea level.
Only small changes to the Fuel Map (B). Increased fuel slightly at the upper revs/boost range.
Changes to Ignition Map A at 2000 - 3000 RPM and boost from 2 - 3.5 PSI. This is were all my pinging was located. After 3.5 PSI of boost the tranny down shifts and out of the ping range. For this reason this may not be a good tune for a manual transmission.

The nose seal should last 100,000,
For it to go out 2 times with that few miles there might be a problem with the snout.

If it’s under warranty I would get a completely new snout setup

What is everyone's preference for fuel pumps? I'm currently getting everything lined up for installing a SC and will be replacing my fuel pump, I'm currently planning to use the Deatschwerks DW100 (9-101-1000). I really want to avoid Walbro since everyone says it noisy but have seen some recommendations to stick with the OEM Denso pump. I'm not planning to install a 7th injector currently but will if needed.

Will it support the 7th injector if I find that I need to install it? My only concern with going the Denso route is having to do it twice if I do need the 7th injector.

With the 7th it's recommended to run a higher flow pump. But I agree to avoid the Walboro that the URD comes with, mine screams like a stuck pig when it's hot. Has since it was new 3+ years ago, Walboro apparently just claims it's a characteristic of the design. But it's irritating lol.

I would look at the Aeromotive or Deuschworks (sp?) options

Unfortunately since I replaced the seal myself I have voided the warranty. Also since I owned it over 3 years it's my fix.

    Thanks anyways.

DW100 is perfect for a 7th setup with 165lph capability.

I went with the DW200 to replace my walbro. It's not stock quiet but way better than the walbro on warm days.

Nope, it's a return style system so any unused fuel is sent back to the tank. The 100 is engineered as a stock replacement.

    Not trying to threadjack... but

is there any way to install a Toyota made supercharger without having to use premium unleaded afterward?? Paying for premium is the ONLY reason I haven’t supercharged my 02’ 3.4

Nope, need to run higher octane fuel when you add boost...91 minimum. If you kept it out if boost all the time you theoretically wouldn't need to... But then what's the point of having the supercharger lol.

I guess you could run a methanol injection setup and get away with regular octane since methanol increases octane? But then you have to constantly refill the methanol when it runs low and even then I don't even know if it would substitute for premium in all conditions.

It's really not that bad to buy premium... Where I live it's only maybe .30 - .40 more per gallon, so an additional 5 bucks or so per fill up. Not the end of the world.

Also - Toyota never made any superchargers, they contracted Magnuson for the TRD superchargers. Only difference between the TRD ones and Magnuson ones is the TRD decal
