5 lug v-6?

i know its probably been discussed before but i can never come up with the right words to search for mpg's. so what kinda mileage could i expect from a five lug extra cab 3.4? auto or stick? would i be way off in expecting 20+ easy with normal driving?

 

i think you could expect 20ish hwy ... ive only had my t100 for a lil bit and its a 3.4l 5spd 2wd and going to the snow and back today i got 20 and that included traffic and idling and about 10 miles aired down to 5 psi for snow .... best so far in the truck is 22

 

well thats promising what do you get normal driving? like city and stuff? id imagine a tacoma would be a little better.

 

i get about 15-17

Nice T-100 you have there-and pretty rare too. I see maybe 1 a month avg out here. When I do it's usually working hard for someone and beat to hell.

 

is it a s-runner? i thought the 5 lug only came in 4 cylinder

 

no the s-runner was only in 2001 i believe but this is just a standard tacoma extra cab 2 wheel drive with the 3.4. not the prerunner or 4wheel drive. im actually lookina at 2 98's both 3.4 just one is standard and the other is auto.. i guess im getting old but i kinda like driving the auto but i feel the stick in the long run is much cheaper and less problems..

 

I get 20-23 in the summer and 17-19 in the winter. I have a 2001 V6 4WD w/ 2.5" lift and 32" tires.
Bone stock 2wd V6 5SPD should get like 21-24 but i wouldn't know for sure.

 

city i havent been able to get a legitimate reading, ive had 2 tanks at 22, and 2 more at 15 with close to the same conditions, the 20 mpg reading is the first "all hwy" reading ive been able to get, but it includes tahoe and snow and back .... i think this thing is capable of 22 all hwy but well see

dude you have no idea, took me forever to find one that didnt have close to 300k on it, whats funny is i noticed youre in san francisco, couple nights ago i visited a friend for a suprise party, parked at mason and pacific ... 2 cars back was another t100, but it was a 4wd sr5, was funny to see another one parks so close. on another note i know why everyones so fit in san francisco, it isnt the diets, its those big ass hills you gotta walk up lol ... and parking is a bitch for this truck, took me 6 tries to find a parking spot it would FIT in that wasnt a fire zone, construction, or too small ... i ended up being 11 blocks from my friends house which im told isnt bad. My respose is you people should have lawns so i can park on that!

 

Oh yeah where your friend lives is a nightmare but out here in the Sunset (western SF) it is a bit easier on ya. Anyways your cool truck was Toyota's first jab at the full size truck market so it has a great history and since they're so far and few between, you got some nice Toyota history there Most of the ones I see here are owned by Chinese contractors who really work the crap out of them, way overload them, generally treat them like dirt-but still get such return out of that venerable truck!

 

What's the difference between summer and winter driving mpg? I noticed my mileage went to hell this past couple weeks...

 

Try checking out www.fueleconomy.gov . Pick out the vehicle you're looking for you can find the EPA estimated MPG & sometimes MPG from users. Good luck with your search.

 

i checked out that website but thats never real world. i wanna know what someone who drives like a normal person gets. not what the government was paid to say/guesses you could get.

 

winter stuff is forumalted different, and most people report worse mileage on it
