So, my wife has been wanting to take this thing down, and I resisted at first, but I'm coming around to the idea. I thought I would use it more for cooking, but it's really just in the way, and I want to use the space for hosting the cookers I actually use.

What do you think, wrap a chain around it and try to pull it down, take it out brick by brick, or some other better idea I haven't considered?
