Sure does. Pros and cons to waterfront property. Knew it going in. Really can't complain overall.

I got my septic pumped Wednesday, and now I'm looking at having to replace my entire septic system. My leach field is junk, my tank was overfull and spilling out into the yard, and apparently it is against code to have a waste pump in your system for no reason.. I have no idea why the old owner put one in, with our whopping 500 gallon system, but I tell you what, I'm sure glad that I had that standing in between the crawlspace and my overfilled tank! Having that to keep forcing stuff outside was a godsend!

So now I'm looking at approximately $12,000 for a new system. While he's out there, I'm going to have them do a slab in front of the house and tie it into my garage slab. I'm sick of parking on mud. I'm sick of parking in a flooded driveway. I'm just over it. I MISS ASPHALT :angrygirl:

Photo of the driveway after last night’s rain for reference:

Fun times. Any assistance from your homeowner's insurance?

Yeesh. It’s a give and take living in a city. I’m hooked up to town water, sewage, and gas (nat gas is national grid but still, it’s piped in. I could convert my grill for it!). None of that nonsense. The worst that I need to deal with is pipes and connections. Flip side, higher population density and less trees. I won’t get into my town and trees though.

I put this up for/with my son last weekend, with a couple of his friends.
He loves it. I just asked him if he had any complaints, and he texts me, no all the neighbors love and are jealous
    It's a steel frame and aluminum roof, 20 X 20, 600 tech screws, 3-4 people, 6 hours in + lunch and beers. 2K delivered.

    Ain't nothing wrong with that.

I identify with this last statement

Linda's had the original muffler and tailpipe still, 15 years old. The secondary catalytic converter and main pipe were replaced at 13 years old though

FYI for anyone that has an AmEx card and Amazon Prime, there is a pretty good targeted offer right now if you have any Membership Rewards points. Once you enroll, if you use any Membership Rewards points as part of the purchase, you get 40% off a single purchase with savings up to $50 (thus a $125.00 purchase triggers the max discount). If you have more than one person on your Prime account with linked credit cards, you can use the offer more than once.

I just got $100 off two purchases last night using a total of 2 AmEx points for stuff we were planning on buying anyways.

Not sure what they would help me with. It's not like my yard flooded flooded, I just noticed water and sludge around the access hatch. I'm not sure how old the system is either.

    Morning everybody.

Hers is pretty thin in a few spots but so far there's been enough there for me to just weld in patches. I'm mostly just doing enough to keep it going until next summer, since the plan is to replace it with something a little newer then.

Shrug. Call your agent and tell him that you were just notified that your system isn't to code and has to be replaced, and see if that sort of thing is covered.

I thought you just moved there not long ago? Maybe i'm old and forgetful though. Didn't you get a septic inspection during the purchase?

Good point. My thought was initially that the inspection would have shown the condition of the poo tank. But if it's not required or was forgone then that's shitty:rimshot:

Heads up, buddies little brother got his truck jacked. We are in western mass but you never know.

I’m guessing it’s in a container in Albany ready to get on a boat but...

So, as I've complained about my service and internet a lot in the last few years.... Something big is happening today but its still "too good to be true" so I am trying to keep my excitment managed.

WE ARE FINALLY GETTING REAL INTERNET! At 2pm today we are supposed to have a tech come connect us to the new fibre and we will have 1gig internet. Faster than all the towns around us, and catapulting my little town into the future.

I will be getting rid of our dish tv and just use a roku and their app and stream cable now. We will be saving 50 a month and get better tv and internet, with no limits!

I'm pretty excited, but again part of me doesn't believe it is going to happen. And if it does, I don't even know what to do with it. I've trained myself to only use forums, never watch videos or gifs etc....

A whole new world is about to open for the wife and I
