Ya, I wasn't gonna straight up say BS, but...and there are other facets to deals besides new truck price.

    Sure, trade-in rape is real.

They may try to pull that stunt on me in a couple of weeks. When the GM knocked 11.3% off the sticker of a loaded OR in Gulf States inventory, I immediately wondered what is going on. It isn’t like the truck has been gathering dust on the lot 90+ days. It was just manufactured.

I figure their yearend quota and incentives are staring them in the face as 12/31 is rapidly approaching. With the shutdown earlier this year, they may not make their numbers. So they have started a major unit push with Toyotathon, and trying to snap up dollars before the Bronco hits.

    Just guessing...

Ya and 11.3% isn't unheard of, but that 16-17% off Im gonna say otherwise lol. Some regions are struggling, I was looking at a 2021 PRO and they are offering me $40k trade on my 2020 OR and $1500 off MSRP on the PRO, nonstop phone calls too and inventory here is stable.

I would like a Pro. Shit, the OR I’m looking at is 46k. 41k after discount.

Unfortunately Gulf States isn’t flush with Pros right now. And they aren’t knocking 10% off the ones they do have.

The majority of Southeast Toyota Cartel Tacomas had this Toyoguard for $700 and paint protection film for $400. I had them put in a request before it hit port to not add anything so I could keep the MSRP down. I didn’t really see the value of those things since I was going to put a ceramic coat on immediately anyway.

I really love my cement loaded OR 2020, just not sold on LR and making the jump, especially since I only paid $39k for it back in Feb, was enticed by LR and a slight discount coupled with high resale.

In Southeast Toyota, they don’t have customer cash/incentive. That’s why it doesn’t show an incentive on the Toyota website. Instead they have dealer cash which is cash back that the dealer gets for selling a vehicle. It changes monthly and fluctuates somewhat similarly to customer cash. But the dealer doesn’t have to give it to the customer so if a dealer can sell a vehicle for MSRP then they keep the incentive. Especially good if they sold one for MSRP back when the dealer cash was $1500 and the customer cash was $1750 at the same time. Probably is no dealer cash right now. They just List the dealer discount. But that’s also why when the dealer cash changed and they tried to say that that was going to change the price of my vehicle I said no way, you can’t have it both ways. The discount we agreed on is the discount we agreed on and I put a deposit on. It didn’t say anything about an incentive being part of the discount. I think the dealer cash was like a $1000 difference in my case because it was two months that the truck took to get there and right as Covid prices began. I think the incentives for financing with Toyota financial could be the same though although I’m not sure about that.

Yeah, not necessarily BS. Other facets being that dealer left themselves $1200 profit in the dealer add-ons and plenty of room for 1- $2000 profit on the trade. Subtract that from the discount and It’s right around 10% off. Really good these days but not in heard of like you said before.

A guy here that worked at the port said they literally use spray sealant for that, lol, same as the nitro filled tire nonsense in the SW region.

Ended up finding a dealer a little over a month ago who was willing to do Costco pricing on a 2021 TRD Pro. After a week or two of shipping delays, the truck was delivered to the dealership this morning. Went out and picked it up after work. Loving it so far.

Congrats, interesting switch from BMW M series to a Tacoma. Great deal on a PRO too.

Thanks! I actually kept the BMW. Moved to Buffalo, NY, earlier this year and needed something more practical to get me through winter. Been eyeing a Tacoma for a few years now and decided now is the time. Couldn't be happier.

Damn, I must be doing something wrong in life. Make sure you fluid film before the first snow / salt, it'll pay dividends.
