The noises this thing makes made me gag.

    But it works wonders.

It’s kinda funny... I’ve lived in CA for a solid 8 years and have never seen an elk here until July of this year (south of Clear Lake) and then again yesterday.

Most of them are in small herds in somewhat protected spots. With Point Reyes or Redwood National Park being the more popular spots.

Gotta say tho, the one thing I do miss is the ex’s parents lived on Shoreline just outside of Anchor Bay. Though they were on the inland side of the highway, the house still had a decent view of the ocean and really huge windows to watch it on the bad weather days. For those that don’t know, that neck of the woods is something of a banana belt meaning it’s usually warm(er) most of the time. Place was heated with a wood stove and had a pretty cool wood fired kitchen stove.

Are those the Roosevelt Elk up around Fern Canyon, and beyond? Saw them once, way back in the day.

I've seen a rather large herd at Camp Roberts, south of King City. Hunting is allowed there, but it's a pain to get a tag. There are some in the Bay Area, Grizzly Island. I've not seen them, though.

These were just south of Crescent City, still within city limits if I had to guess.

We are getting more every year. There are herds from southern Humboldt all the way to the Oregon border.

My parents had a house just outside of Anchor bay as well. Between Fish Rock Rd and Havens Neck. We used to go out there all the time and you're right. Killer weather and great ocean views. I miss that place.

We used to go out on Havens Neck all the time. And wheelin' in the Gualala River come summer. They were more toward the AmeriGas so north of Havens Neck.
