According to Zillow, Dylan's house that resembled a trailer is 1,112 square feet, with 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom; It was built in 1975. Surprisingly, it is not the smallest house on that street, and all of the other houses in that section of the neighborhood seem to have been built in 1975-1976; Almost 20 years later, that house still does not have a fenced-in backyard, and it does not show how many times it has changed hands since Dylan's family moved out in 2001. I honestly believe that Dylan's family may have been renting the place...

 

My old house, which my parents rented from another Navy guy my dad knew, is literally a tenth of a mile away and Dylan's old house could be seen from the front porch; Despite the short distance, Dylan's house made our place look like a mansion!

Our house was 2,245 square feet with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a half bathroom, and a 3-car garage!

 

If it's for sale, it's probably wayyy out of my price range...

 

Going back to the days before social media warped our minds, when we weren't hanging out at Lueck Park we were riding our bikes around the neighborhood; In the summer of 2000, right after we moved to Oak Harbor, my parents bought me my first legit mountain bike, and also my first bike ever with gears and handlebar brakes! I beat the shit out of that thing and completely destroyed it by the end of 2002...

When we lived in Oak Harbor, my first dog Molly was only 5 to 7 years old; I started taking her for walks by myself in 2001 or so, and this is how I found out a couple of the neighborhood bullies were scared of dogs...



Molly was a purebred Labrador Retriever, a Black Lab; She absolutely loved people, like pretty much every other Labrador Retriever in existence, but didn't get along with most other dogs. I was out walking her one day, and maybe two or three of the neighborhood troublemakers showed up with the intention of harassing me; They saw Molly and ran the other way like the cowards they were...

Like I said, Molly was a total sweetheart, but I didn't tell these pricks that; When I had Molly with me, these kids left me alone!

She made a good watchdog, because she barked when people came to the door and her bark sounded pretty ferocious, but she would have been utterly useless as an attack dog if the need arose; Labradors are naturally good-natured, and while she once took a full-grown Rottweiler, she loved kids and could be trusted around infants. Regardless, the neighborhood punks in Oak Harbor were scared of her, and I used that to my advantage!

I lived on my bikes growing up..I still have a few. Did you ever ride BMX?

 

I have ridden them before, but I never actually owned one...

I had two generic bikes with the "crank the pedals backward" brake purchased from Toy 'R' Us, and in 2000 I got my first mountain bike; I've had four mountain bikes, purchased for me by my parents in 2000, 2002, 2005, and 2008. The last one, purchased in 2008, was a Giant Boulder SE that I still have and still ride from time to time!
