I did go back after sun came up and I had another vehicle to drive and he was gone. I didn't want to go very far into the woods with jeans and a black Hoodia on, it is bow season.

It's cool, but too much for my taste. I have Tactillian magnet flags on my front doors. Small and subtle.

Yesss I completely understand that, just trying to match the coolness and subtleness of this f150 version:

Yea, especially around my area. This is Special Forces country, where every 4th or 5th vehicle on the road is a black or charcoal lifted truck.

Completed the cab mount chop and beat up the pinch weld yesterday. Overall I'm very happy with how it came out considering I've only welded few times. I didn't need it considering I have 265/75/16 tires right now, but I get bored and like to mess with stuff.

    IMG_0763.jpg IMG_0765.jpg IMG_0771.jpg IMG_0772.jpg

Performed some regular maintenance too (oil change, tire rotation, and greased the propeller shaft)

Yeah I peeled the wrap off of the tailgate and hood as it was showing some age and wear in those areas.

How long did that take? Or, how long did it last till you noticed age and wear?

Smashed my pinch weld and ceramic coated my new wheels. Now Ready for my 33s as soon as they come in.

Pinch weld was way easier than people make it sound. Spent most of the time pulling the wheels and fender liner.

Had it for about 3 years now. Just some discoloration spots. Probably wouldn't be an issue with a darker color.

Finally got my DIY roof rack bolted up and fitted. Next a wind deflector and some paint!

That looks great! Any details about the build??

I’d love to make something like that to provide a wind deflector for my wedge camper. I have a hard time spending $500 on a pre made shorty rack for my access cab. Really like the idea of making one. (Already built the wedge camper)

Yeah it was pretty simple to make, just a lot of trimming and sanding to get the proper curve for the roof line. It's 3/16" aluminum for the side panels, bought the cross bars from Tnutz.com. The middle cross bars are 1"x0.5" to get the rack as low as possible while still clearing the curvature of the roof; the other bars are 1"x2". Used some aluminum round tubing to make spacers for the roof gutter, then just used 2" aluminum angle to mount the side panels to the roof. I can take more pictures later
