I wish you all would quit talking about spacers. I was enjoying all the shenanigans and asshattery.

i dont really understand why u started yourself off on the forum calling people out? the forum is for people to help others and meet new friends maybe along the way. u have not acted in such a way. and just so u know, differential drops are not all that good either. if u searched here u would see that people are starting to find out that using them is not all its cracked up to be and that they have actually caused more damage is some cases.

X2. And it seems the OP knows very little about how a front suspension works.....

Also doesn't seem to acknowledge that there are two types of spacer lifts? (Top plate and coil).

I don't think there are too many people on here that were "convinced" (by us know-it-alls) that top-plate spacers compress the coils. The only one providing false information so far seems to be the OP.

Well....A Top plate spacer doesnt compress the coil spring. It just makes the assembly longer. Note: this pic is not the Tacoma assembly, but similar set up

What a set up like this does, as Janster has already pointed out to the OP, is make sthe suspension want to travle further than designed. Thus binding, and breaking stuff. Meow......Im not a "Know-it-all"...Just a guy with a can opener......

Yeah I'm fully aware of the differences, just wasn't sure the OP was. Those pics help.

A possible addition to Jansters post: Does the addition of a 3" top plate spacer actually render the front bump stops useless? i.e. will the shock bottom out before the LCA hits the bump stops, or there still some travel left in the shock?

You guys finaly beat me down. Greatest apologies if I insulted anyone with the "know it all" expression. For my purposes the lift I went with works for me and certainly works for my budget. Like I said I am not rock climbing or racing Just hitting some fire roads in the woods while hunting. Had a chance to look at a lot of your rides and they all look like sweet hook ups. Proud to be part of the TW forums and I can tell there is a lot of good info here. The OP

Yeah...With a top plate spacer, the shock now becomes the bump stop.

well now i know you have no idea what your talking about...

the aarms have a fixed pivot point. the only way to raise the truck using coil spacers is to rotate those arms...and by rotating those arms what are you doing....LOSING downtravel!! stock the truck has about ~3-4" of downtravel, but when you rotate those arms a/ a spacer, you now only have 0-1" downtravel...its simple math dude.

by doing this, you will NOT have the same factory ride...

ok, enough time wasted on someone that obviously has no idea what they are talking about...:D
