Shortbed in the garage, Longbed outside

Anybody seen the new Carmax commercial where the guy is trying to fit the Tacoma in his garage? When he pulls it into the garage its a long bed, but when they show the side view in the garage its a short bed. Then he pulls it out of the garage and it's a long bed again. So then he goes and trades his transformer bed in for a real true short bed.

It really amazes me how they could miss that pretty key detail.

Nice find OP. It’s funny because my short bed barley fits in my garage. Long bed, nope ain’t happening.

 

This is why I love having a house built in the early 70s... I can fit my 1973 dodge challenger in there with 6 feet left in front of it.

 

Nice catch! I saw the ad but didn’t notice they were using a short bed in those clips. Haha.

 

I think that's the point of the commercial. Guy bought a long bed = didnt fit, so he returned it for a SB.

That is the point of the commercial but they showed a shortbed truck not fitting.

 

They use both a long bed and short bed in the not fitting shots depending on the angle. Seems that the shots from outside the garage are with a long bed, but the shots inside the garage are done with a short bed.

This is why the price of used Tacoma's is through the roof. The Video dept. at Carmax has them all locked down for commercial production.

 

Nah. Both are the same width.
