Hey I have a question for you. Me and a buddy are trying to come up with a way to make cheap styrofoam goose decoys. And of course we would like to have some sort of a mold and possibly use the can foam insulation or mix the two part formula ourselves and inject it into the molds. Whats the best way to get-r-done?

Here is what I would do.
1st make a box big enough to go around a "real decoy".
You will need the box to split down the middle into to pieces.
Use some toothpicks or something to hold the decoy off the bottom of the box.
Spray the decoy with some type of silcone spray. That will keep the foam from sticking to it.
Place in box 1 side only then spray in the foam around the "real decoy".
after it cures pull the decoy out and cut it flat to the edge of the box.
Now repeat on the other side. This will give you 2 halves of the mold.
Now you can put the sides together and spray in the foam. this can be done many times. Just be sure to spray some release on the inside and flat parting line each time.
That is the shortest that I could write that up. Hope it helps.

I'm a what out here we call a faller. I've heard many americans refer to us as Timbercutters. I fall old growth timber on the west coast of B.C Canada. Its nothing like you see on t.v I can assure you that. I work exlusivley with the S-64 Canadian Air Crane. Max lift of 21,000lbs. We fall and buck large timber to be harvested by this helicopter.

A few pic to stimulate conversation.
