More pics would be awesome! I’m very familiar with tnutz, gotta love 80-20. Errector Sets for adults. This might have to be my next project.

Definitely worth the time and effort! So far with the side panel metal, round tubing, angle and 4 cross bars (I'll get more once I finalize everything), I'm only about $110 into it

Did some camping and wheeling in the desert with some friends. Was super windy and a little rainy, but still fun!

We replaced my sons on his Leer cap. It looks the same. We used a 5 in 1 and pried it off. It had double sided tape holding it on. Super easy to do it yourself.

    Drove it "off-road" yesterday.
I think I'm going to head back out there today and see how much flex my truck has or doesn't have due to what I think are the wrong rear shocks.

Don't mind the microphone laying across the dash. I need to tie that up when I install my rear view mirror and UltraGauge.

What rear shocks are you supposed to have?

This is the kit I bought: https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p312/OME_Coil/Bilstein_5100_Kit_w/_Dakars_(HS05BK-1-Dakar).html

When I have the truck on a lift to change the oil or whatever, I have excessive droop of the rear axle. I have extended rear brake lines and they get pulled tight (so do the ABS wires), I had to add an extension to the brake line bracket on the rear axle. The exhaust was resting on the passenger leaf spring so I had to cut the exhaust pipe (axle dump). No matter what I do, the shock boots keep pulling off the shock. I can put a tie strap on, drive down the road to get gas and the shock boot would be out of place.

Someone mentioned to me to flex the truck and take measurements, I'm not 100% sure where to take the measurements.

Here is part of my invoice. The leaf springs lift 2.25" but the shocks are for a 3" to 4" lift?

I did replace mine. It wasn't a perfect fit though so it isn't perfectly flush. I believe I ordered one intended for a leer. If I were you just order something small and red that fits in the area then seal up the hole for the wire.

Installed this Sony xav-ax7000 last night and took a picture this morning, so that counts -

Still rocking the stock speakers (and they really sound much better now) but the high-powered amp within the head unit should pave the way to a nice sounding system once I eventually get some door speakers.

Well, I wanted to get the color match shroud...But didn't want to spend the money just yet, so I decide to paint my original chrome one.

Oh. I was thinking your original was color matched.
The one you have now looks like it came off a base model truck. Did you paint over the chrome or sand it down first?

I tried to match the Spruce Mica with Dupli Color but color was not right, so I had the Toyota Gray laying around and decide to use that one. I really don't care for the chrome look.

I didn't sand the grille down but did use multiple coats of primer and base coats. I have painted Plastic Chrome on my old 06 Grille and did hold up ok. Time will tell.

    Last night, but whatever.

Replaced my starter. Drove my truck through 2 bodies of water that were far too deep, and the last week it's been acting up. Finally it just didn't start so I had to roll it down a hill to pop start it to get to work, then I had my coworkers push me to get started.

Found out why it's called the "Pine Barrens"

I drove it up to the state park again today and got the front and rear to flex. Got out to check and there is no/very little flex in my suspension.

If the L/F tire is on a bump and the front end is raised up some, shouldn't the R/R be stuffed (on the bump stops)?

Is your CBI battery clamp pressing down on the battery fill caps rather than on the battery directly?

A couple of pictures from my drive back from Nevada, on Friday morning around 7am. HWY 31 a couple miles out of La Pine Oregon. There were about 7 people off the road pretty slick under the snow. I seen crashes all the way into Bend where it was raining heavy when I went thru.
