    I chose Kings 2.5 w/ adjusters.

As for the why? My oldest bro is big into prerunning and has his own built truck that runs Kings exclusively. He had suggested I look at Icon as well since apparently that's the company a lot of the Raptors are using for their suspension, but once he saw the pricing @HeadStrong Off-Road offered, he told me to go with Kings.

I'm sure Fox is going to be a solid buy as well though, since they've been doing suspension forever. Someone else can correct me if i'm wrong, but from everything I've seen/read, Fox, King and Icon are the top 3 suspension companies.

I wasn’t trying to push Accutune as your only option. I think they are a solid company and should be highly considered when making your purchase, but I’m a big fan of their tech articles for the information.

The problem you’ll experience from others feedback is is always biased or limited. People will tell you whatever you want to hear to justify their decisions. Can cause lots of misleading information when trying to research. I’m all about understanding the technical aspects and making your decision based of that, along with other factors.

I did not take it as you were pushing Accutune I do the same (push people to there articles). I agree people will try to justify what ever they use.

Slight bias here. I would go with Kings.

It's an easy choice for me and I use this simple equation when I buy high dollar goodies.

Of your 2 options - Which company is the original/ literally created the standard? Which company is trying to be like the original?

I also took a lot of time trying to decide between the two and ended up going Fox
And Accutune for both buying and install.
Probably can’t go wrong with either but I'm happy with my decision

Are you trying to say Fox came out before Kings? Fox set the standard? I'll give Fox started with with bikes.

Walker Evans, Parnelli Jones, and Bill Stroppe all ran kings in the early 80s before Kings was even a thing.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Fox was founded in 1978 in the moto market. King didn't officially come until much later.

kings are apparently the "gold standard" I went with fox cause I run fox on everything I own with wheels and I know they kick ass. Cant really go wrong with either.

I was recently looking into a rebuild on my ICONs. Because I was also looking at some "changes" to my setup I got to talking with the guy on what he has rebuilt and what he has seen as far as internals. He said in terms of quality on the internals Fox, King, and Icon are all great, but of the recent rebuilds Fox has the highest quality components. I did not ask what exactly, but that is the opinion of a guy that rebuilds shocks as part of his profession. FWIW.

I own kings and like them. Know a guy who has ran both and said both are great but fox needed rebuilt sooner than the kings and that’s why I chose Kings.

I want to throw a couple pennies in here:

I read the accutune Fox vs king adjuster article and was a little bummed when I saw it said the king adjuster would result in little change and only I’m extreme positions.

when I received my shocks, I cranked the clickers full hard because that’s what I learned from his article.
Drove a bit then said “heck let’s see”. Cranked full soft.
It was a completely different truck. Then went mid way... completely different again...

I realize that accutune is a master fox dealer, filthy Motorsports is a master king dealer. They both sell both, but each has their gold standard.

If I wanted Fox I’d call accutune and never look back. If I wanted kings I’d call filthy. If I wanted ads I’d call mlm or ads direct.

at the end of the day, the Fox and king prerunner series, oem series level shocks are built to the same standard and there is hardly a difference between the two. Both will do everything you will want and it’s the expertise of the guy tuning the stack to make one perform better than the other. (Never order direct through king or fox, use the accutune tune service, it’s night and day difference)

the difference comes when you jump into the race series level stuff. And then it becomes “how easy is it to get bypass tubes where you want them, the correct size tubes and the correct springs in the tubes”... and who makes slide over caps so you can get the correct travel in the spacing you need...

    so all custom fab issues

And finally if you are racing, who has the sponsorship deal or which factory is closer to you so you can walk in and take parts of the shelf/shocks off the ready table so you don’t have to wait.

A little off topic but is one brand a little more proned to squeaking? I’ve seen multiple post that the kings are squeaky is it the same for the fox’s?
