Anyone have an Nvidia 3080 that they want to sell lol. Have you guys had luck with any of the Nvidia cards?

I have a Tuf OC 3090. Someone else here got a 3080, not sure which one.

 

Didn't really break it down that far. At the rate of my current setup, anything that gets me out of running Warzone on low settings so it looks like I'm not playing a game from the late 90s.

 

Well if you are just playing 1080p then any of the current stuff will work just fine. 3070 and (most likely) the 6800. We will know more on the amd side tomorrow so can have a better idea then. Even 1440p with a 3070 is fine

 

Just upgraded my system to B550 in anticipation of upgrading to Ryzen 5XXX and a 3080. Currently running a 2700X and an RTX 2070 Super

 

What are you using it for? Heavy gaming?

 

yeah heavy gaming at 1440p 144hz, and also photo editing and 3d modeling (solidworks etc.)

haha it's just some junk audio card... I know built in mobo audio is fine nowadays but I've been using this thing for quite a while and I still like it so I kept it around

 

Probably eSATA or one of these bad boys

 

Well not disappointed in the 6800/6800xt. Good cards by AMD with some limitations

TDLR...(6800 compared to 3070 and XT vs 3080)
-For 1080p...the 6800 and XT seem to do better than nvidia offerings (on titles not cpu bound)
-For 1440p its a toss u. XT vs 3080 its back and forth. 6800 vs 3070 seems like the the 6800 is the better choice
-4k nvidia
-Ray Tracing...dont bother with AMD. If its a feature you want nvidia all the way
-nvidia for productivity

Looks like either offering from nvidia or amd is a good option. Though with more features (DLSS, RT, encoding, ect) nvidia may still be the choice I'd go with...but then again AMD comes with more memory which could become a bigger factor (exactly when..who knows)

 

you could buy a prebuilt, then take the 3080 out of it and put it in your pc

 

Agreed overall. 4K nVidia wins overall but it's close on a lot of titles, I wonder if AMD drivers will close that gap?

I will say the AMD ray-tracing without DLSS 2.0 on is fairly close. Once DLSS is a factor nVidia pulls far away. I wonder if that will change though, AMD says they have their own DLSS ready to go in the new year.
