I wanted a Tacoma for a long time, I really liked the 1st Gens. I bought mine brand new in 2007, just a simple SR5 4x4. It treated me well enough, I loved the aftermarket support for a Tacoma but it's likely better that I own a vehicle that's not overly easy to modify since I tend to leave them more stock-ish (not that my Tacoma was heavily modified, but the itch was always there since parts were very accessible). I wouldn't rule out a Tacoma in the future if I get away from a full size, but they'd have to do something to really impress me.

Yep! Then you just have to get a truck with a CB installed!

But in reality, get an add-a-fuse, use the ignition fuse in the kick panel. Ground it to a bolt under the dash (behind drivers kick panel). Simple to do

Sort of related, KBB puts the trade in value for my truck $4-5k more than I paid for it! Used vehicle prices are nuts right now!

Not sure, I’m guessing he left the keys in it.

Got our new internet, not half as fast as it should be, but still 5 times faster than it was! Will get it sorted later just enjoying no data limits for first time
    In two years.

I have an SWR meter when you decide what antenna you’re going to run. I had meh luck with both Firestiks I had. I’ve got a Lil Wil magnet mount that I need to figure out at some point. My thought was to get some clear film for the roof, run it out the slider and tune it and then store it in the truck and run it as needed.

At the time I figured easier to just get it over with and keep it 2 more years, which we were able to do.

Barf out, like gag me with a spoon!!

Honestly if it's me I would mess with it when it gets warm, not ideal weather to have issues with putting this beast together

And yet still too scared to see Slayer

25gb a month for 175 bucks, thanks hughes net. My neighbor paid 500 last month with his "overage credits" to keep his air bnb's happy.

The ONLY option where I am. The state paid years ago to get small towns like us good internet, we finally got it today.

That's fucked. Our 1 gig up/down FiOS is like $80/ month. $175 is straight butt rape.

if it’s a push button start most likely spoofing the signal of the key. It was and probably still is a huge problem in Canada. They were stealing Tacoma’s left and right.

I think my next purchase will depend on where I’m living. If I have a garage that will fit a full size I think that will be a no brainer. With how good on mpg these trucks are getting and how close in cost it is for a mid size to a full size. If the garage fits a mid but not a full, that’ll be a deciding factor.

if my future garage fits a raptor. I’m in.

CB? There’s a lot of threads for install around here. Nobody has really gotten a good slick install in either 2 or 3 gen. A few decent setups though and some awesome threads about antenna science.

there’s a user somewhere here who I actually posted here I think Who ripped out their passenger seat. They also did an aftermarket seat heater which torched their truck. Burned to a crisp, I think insurance paid for it obviously with rate hike. Dude was lucky he was alone going over a gap in Colorado I think, fire started because he left the heater on when he was digging the truck out of the snow or something like that.

They may be mitered but they are probably sonic welded and sealed. They were marketed as "better" by being sealed but the reality is they make the window companies more money when your exact scenario happens or junior breaks a window playing ball in the house. They don't want your local glass guy to be able to replace the glass. You need to buy the "superior" sealed unit.

I have a buddy who is some kind of higher up at the manufacturing plant here in NH for Harvey. He says it's very fucked up over there right now. Harvey was bought by someone, maybe Saint Gobain or something? Some big, huge international company. He has worked there for like 20 years and is actually looking to make a move. I'd ask him about your window but I have tried that before with him- someone else I know had an issue with a Harvey window- and it was useless, he only runs the plant apparently.

Thanks, and good to know. I tried getting ahold of Harvey 5-6 times yesterday and no one ever picks up. I finally got a half baked e-mail response back to my online inquiry that wasn't promising. I sent in an online inquiry with the warranty sticker (shows the manufacture date, order number and all that fun stuff), I listed the issue and that I needed to either order a new piece of glass or a new sash. The e-mail response was a link to Harvey's website 'where to find your warranty sticker' and asking me to send in information about my specific issue with the warranty label... Feels like they never bothered to read the initial submission. I'm still hoping I can just order a new sash and swap them out. If not, I'll go for the whole window replacement but that will definitely be a Spring project. I'm not popping a window out this time of year! And, if it comes to that, the replacement won't be Harvey!
