Hello my machinic installed my pcv valve the wrong direction pointing to the left instead of right and when I told him it was the wrong way he just twisted the other direction now here is my question since then the vacuum hose that connects to the pcv valve has oil around it now that before the installation it didn't have oil .Do y'all think my pcv valve is damaged because he turned it ? Should I buy another one and do it myself ???

If it is the type that just pushes into a grommet, then no he didn’t mess it up.
The grommet 18 years old at this point, I’m betting it is getting a bit hard and not sealing like it was when new?

Around $26,000 worth of unleaded in the fuel tank.
Those grommets can become really hard and brittle, be prepared to pick the pieces out with pliers.
