Has anyone had this problem and it NOT go away in 4H? I have this roaring noise that kinda sounds like its oscillating at highway speeds, and sounds even louder when slowing to a stop, sounds like its up front from in the cab but I can't reproduce it in the garage and I have a mechanic stethoscope. It seems to have gotten worse since I put JBA UCAs on the other day.

Does anyone have a removal tool I could buy/borrow? Located in Oregon. Noticed a slight vibration in my gas pedal after my lift and figured I should just tackle this sooner than later. Appreciate it

Reading this post, reminds me of when I learned about (and successfully) fixed the overhead nav failure with a $0.10 resistor and some solder...

I am calling ECGS tomorrow for their bushing fix and hope to replace my bad bearing very soon..!

Have you had your alignment checked? Rattling / wobbling in the steering wheel when coming to a stop or just noise? If alignment checks out, could this be your wheel bearings? I initially replaced the bearings b/c the roaring sound was directly related to the speed. I could easily spin the wheels while on the jack and hear the noise. You can also try shaking the wheel at 3 and 6 and see if there's some play. This eliminated the roaring ... then the ECGS elminnated the growling I'd get mostly when letting off the gas coasting down a hill next to my house (roughly 20-30mph) and within a few speed ranges. I'm 4 days in with the ECGS and 2 months with the wheel bearings and couldn't be happier. I'm not sure my truck has ever driven this smooth.

Just set up my appointment today for the bushing to be changed next week at a local shop... I can always send out the tool when the shop is done with it, but I'll post it in the marketplace. Should be next week sometime or week after.

    Good morning TW:
I am doing the ECGS swap, all going well and just like as documented in may videos. I have a sort of off topic but related question: Does the painted (bearing/ bushing) surface of this new remanufactured axel (from CVJ Axel -Denver CO) give any concern? Obviously the old CV's wear surface is shinny smooth bear metal from 237k miles of use.... OR am I overthinking this?

Hey guys. I just did a leveling and aal in my 15 tacoma. Had new tires put on and had an alignment done. I had my mechanic replace the needle bearing and swap in the ecgs bushing but im still getting vibes in 2Hi that go away in 4Hi. Any suggestions. No diff drop and its definitely still coming from the cv to differential area

Maybe it's the passenger side bearing? It's not nearly as commonly replaced as the driver side. I would start by crawling under the truck and see how much side to side play each side has in the CV shafts...obviously the one you just replaced shoudn't have much, if any, but it'll serve as a good point of reference for the passenger side.

I checked and that side seems alright. Any other way I can test the drivers side without getting up off all 4? I tried rocking the wheel and spinning in by hand but seems to be only acting up when it wants to

You sure your mechanic installed the ECGS bushing right? Ive heard if the bushing is driven in too far that causes problems

I don't know what happened but I towed a boat the night after and it seemed to go away‍♂️. I've started looking towards the rear and driveshaft angles

I noticed that too. I guess it didn't give you any immediate issues since you didn't report back? I don't really understand why they do that though.

Is there only one needle bearing in the driver's side? The shop is telling me I need to buy 2 but I read on egcs only one of required

Only one on the drivers side has the needle bearing. The passenger side has a large caged ball bearing style bearing. So you will be replacing the one needle bearing with the ECGS "Bushing"

Anyone need the puller tool for 05-15 Tacoma? I did this fix last year and just found it in my garage. Best fix ever btw. Bad vibes 100% gone when I pulled out of the shop.
