Settled mean they agreed to something Steve, not that they were not completely absolved of two guys driving like jerks through an area with posted lower limit..... Old tires do go to shit. Rubber compounds do break down over time.

I have this setup and really like it for what it is. My truck didn't get much lift from 4/3 setting because I think I'm too heavy.

On that note, anyone have 650lb 14" springs they need to part with?

The Summer after I turned 16 I had the pleasure of a job that required me to make 400 Bias tires a shift. Later, when I had to go back to school I went to work for QC Testing & Prototyping Departments. So, that's why I know a bit about tires and assume most also have some common sense regarding them.

I already addresses the fact tires will last a long time with proper storage (Out of Sun & big temp fluctuations to spell it out) in my original post.

I believe it is easily identifiable to see damaged tires that were not stored correctly. Dry rot, Occurs after the protective film (UV & Sealer) on tires wares away. Most cleaners people use to make their tires all shiny also wear away this outer film. Tire cracks are a dead give away.

The bigger thing that tires do that age and no longer "in use" is harden up, so the break down is actually a loss of flexibility and anyone who has tried to drive a car that hasn't moved in 2-3 years has first had experience of "flats" that tires can develop.

Walker was already litigated and crash blame placed fully on Driver, I care less what your article says about anything because 60 secs on Google will get you the Police Accident Investigation Report and no way he knows more than them.

Last lets talk about common sense, I have seen many requests for Date stamp for Cooper tire models that haven't even existed for 5 years yet. More common sense just how many CO TW people you think just have multiple sets of tires sitting around.

Oh and for the poor suckers who read this whole thing, there is very little Rubber in tires. Tires have been Chemically engineered for a very long time and made from Buytl, polybutadiene &/ or styrene-butadiene "compound rubber".

With all this talk about old ones, how about some basically new ones! Ha ha...

Bump. $300 takes 'em. 5 tires... yes 5.

Engineers say put 10 miles a month on tires in summer, 30 miles in winter (it's about heating tires up basically), keep it garaged and they will last a long time. Catastrophic failures are extremely rare so remember to buy a Lotto ticket before you die if it happens.

Than again, I don't know anything per some.

I can tell you from personal experience, my almost 5 year old Toyo MTs are trying to kill me every time it rains or snows. They have dry cracking and chunking from rubber hardening. Every time I drive past a tree on a straight section of road I fear for my life.

    RIP PW

Whatta steal! If I know of anyone that could use these I'll send em your way. At 300 bucks that's almost vehicle impulse buy levels. If they were 16's I'd probably take em just for shits and gigs
