What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Not last night but the night before my neighbor knocked on our door to let me know his son ran into my truck while riding his bike. I'm guessing the boy is probably 4 years old? I felt bad and yes the boy is alright. Damage to the bumper:



He offered to pay for any repair but I think most of it will buff out and I have a MGM paint pen for any deeper scratches.

 

I bet alittle polishing compound and elbow grease will have you good to go.

 

Offer to let the boy help you polish it out. Maybe he can hand you cloths and the polish and watch you repair. That way he can see you are not mad at him and helps him understand that accidents happen and he can step up and take some responsibility. While his attention span might be less than 60 seconds, in a some cases it could be a great teaching and healing moment.

 

Update: I was able to get the 2020 OEM fog lights to fit into the stock location on my 2015. I had to take about 2mm off one of the inside screw tabs with a Dremel to get it to slide in the screw mounts, I had the wiring done professionally at 4WP, so I don't know the schematics for that. Will add more pics when the sun goes down.

Agreed, it was dark out so i'm sure no one saw what happened. He didn't have to come by to let me know, but did. Commendable!

I paid around $100, my morimotos burned out ($170). I kind of liked the stock look, they seem pretty nice so far.

 

I was expecting them to be a lot more then only $100 assuming you got them from a dealer.

 

Yeah, I was surprised also. Not knowing if they would fit I just took a chance. Couldn't justify paying another $170 for the morimotos if they're just going to burn out that quick. The build quality seems pretty good, if not better. The entire light is enclosed with water tight plug-ins.

Nothing exciting but swapped the standard ram snorkel head with a pre filter.

 

Don't laugh; I heated my house that way for two years!!!

The furnace had a bit of a blow out and all of the wiring was incinerated; probably lucky the house did not go up with it.

Hung up a net i found in the garage. It was a net you find in a sedan trunk to hold stuff from sliding around. Thought i could repurpose it. 3D printed some quick hooks that i hot glued onto the roof rail hardware. Had to use some string to help spread the net out a bit. Im happy with it.

 

How did you mount your pods in the arb?

 

Changed the coolant for the first time, 98K. Bought the truck at 30K from a Honda dealer so I don’t know if they changed it or not.
