DCSB, goofy looking body lines, a bed you cant put a box in and have usable bed space. Best Break over angle. Looks goofy.
DCLB, it's a truck, it has a long bed that is considered a short bed by just about every other manufacturer. Looks pretty dang good.
ACLB, Hands down the best looking truck configuration Toyota ever made. CASE FUCKING CLOSED.


Me, I wish my dogs where not so big, eh not really. So here I am eventually taking the rear seats out for a flat platform, secretly wishing I could live with a ACLB.

 

That's your opinion. To each his own though. I'm very happy with my little bed. I can haul everything that I need, and if my needs get to the point of having to require something bigger, well than that's what trailers are for.

I just like the more compact look, even with a full size bed.
And.....these days with kids long gone and they and the grandkids living far away I never have passengers other than my buddy here. He doesn’t need his own door.

 

Alright I'll jump in here. ACLB and DCSB are truly two different trucks.

Personally, I think the AC is s good looking truck. For me that's where it ends. I prefer to have doors that open the right way, not backwards. The back seats are for dogs and... well, that's about it. If you like or need the 6' bed, then the AC is a good choice. DCLB is not my thing. To long and disproportionate.

As for the DCSB: I can haul people and dogs in the back. When I flip the seats down I have plenty of room for a lot of camping and fishing gear, guns, clothes, etc. I have no need for a 6' bed on my truck. I can haul golf clubs, off roading gear, my flat tube for fishing and a list of other stuff that makes it work well for my needs.

Living in Arizona it was important that I could also fit the truck in my garage. Considering the AC and DCSB are the same length, I got everything I needed from the DCSB.

There are more DCSB on the road as a result of Toyota meeting the demand of the buyers.

This talk about DCLB being to long for daily maneuverability you should try driving my 2014 RAM 5500 crew cab with a 12' long 8' wide dump bed having a 198" wheelbase. From winch bumper to tail lights is 24' long & takes a football field to flip a U turn.

Driving my DCLB Tacoma is a piece if cake to drive compaired to that pig

Sounds like one of my work trucks, we call it the school bus. It's a ford 2011 F550 crewcab with the longest dump bed available. Some parking lots are a challenge, and some drive throughs are a no go.

 

Oh for sure, I ain't hating at all. I love looking at all the trucks posted here. I just have my preferences, as we all do with women and men and their body styles and options. I still prefer my 6' bed, even though I have an old gmc 3500 dually long bed... which is 8'. Although, I do think the 2nd gen short bed body lines are the most ridiculous looking. Besides, if I want break over angle I'll pull out the '86 4runner.... after I get it going lol.

Kids are gone, wife still here, the two dogs are dachshunds, and if we need to haul people we'll take the wife's Forester limited... Access cab works better for our needs ! P.S. I remember when a 6.5' bed was a short bed...

It may not be an issue for you, but one of the big advantages of the DC for me was the roll down windows in the back. My dog absolutely loves to hang his head out of the window and would be miserable in the back without that capability.

 

I hear you, and at least having the old pop out rear windows would be a nice plus. Don’t know for the life of me why they couldn’t have retained those.

Thanks. I went with an 1.5” in front and 2” in the rear. It may look like more because I also have air bags that are kept at around 15lbs when not loaded (mostly with firewood)

 

No, and it’s the one pisser about the set-up. I keep the rear slider open and of course he gets air from the front windows, but obviously it’s not the same. He’s mostly curled up in the dedicated space I’ve made for him back there. If I could replace them with the old style pop outs I would.

 

yikes! had no idea, figured they at least did the pop-out thing. I NEVER open my rear slider, too afraid of jumping out and forgetting it and rain hitting and after the 3rd brake light leak bs, the fear is real.

 

DCSB looks like a perfectly sized rig for hauling 4 people and some gear off-road. Nothing wrong with the longer beds being used for hauling at all but the shorter length is more maneuverable. My opinion
