Goodyear makes no mention of year rating.

Bridgestone/Firestone says it is your responsibility to determine the tire safety after 10 years. Shocking given their QC history.

I still go with Michelin here, as we all know they are far superior to everything else on the market.

 

I thought Duratracks were the go to?

 

One thing to note on this topic is the type of rubber compound used by each brand. Michelin uses a synthetic compound that is great for grip and mileage, but is not good in terms of shelf life. When I worked at a tire shop i would often see Michelin tires with date codes less than 5 years old that had a decent amount of dry rotting already. The first thing I asked people who wanted to buy michelins is how many miles they drive per year. If you are looking for a set of tires to last 80k miles and you're going to put that mileage on in 4 years, they are great. If you are looking for a tire to put 5k miles per year on, they are not the brand for you.

I'm done, just like you probably learned how to re-gear via OJT experience, mine comes from working with said Tire design Engineers/ QC folks, not google.

Since Kelly Springfield is a Goodyear company maybe age doesn't apply to their tires.

Can we get some kind of recoil mitigation system put into that? Maybe make it double sided with a chicken nugget holder on the other end? That way I can shoot communists, eat some nuggets, and not getting sprayed in the face with chick-fil-a sauce?
