This is very cool....thanks for the insight on the topos. My wife would tell me I'm worthless with car directions, but she can't figure out how they drop me in the woods with a compass and a topo map....do my calculations for true north, etc.. and find my way in the middle of the night by terrain association! Heck, I used to have a glove box full of maps!

Not to beat a dead horse, but the topo guys that work with me confirmed the hill shading that was mentioned. They also added that depending on the software, the user can adjust where the "light" source is coming from.

Work, work, and more work. I try to get out on the SUP when I can, but spend most of my free time tinkering on my dirt bike project. Not much to do with the Taco over here except look at all the other Tacos (probably the most prolific vehicle on Oahu). I should have that beverage in the mail to you this week (sorry).

I have a 1979 Suzuki PE-175N completely torn down in my garage in the middle of a sort-of resto. The bike sat for several years before I got my hands on it, so the piston was seized, stator was deteriorated, airbox had something living in it, etc. So far, I had the cylinder bored .5mm over, sent the stator off to be professionally rebuilt, separated the crankcases to make sure the internals were good, and I am waiting on some gaskets and a few random parts to put the motor back together. Then it will be frame, suspension, wheels, etc. etc. Honestly I could bore you to death with the details...it's been a fun and informative process so far.

Saturday at fpk may be doable for me...all depends upon whether my parents need assistance up in the fort. Mom just got out of the hospital last week and is still recovering.

I made the leap into ebikes. This is so much fun on and off road! Best part is I can ride through neighborhoods and everyone waves!! Try that on a 2 stroke....get shot at! So far...2 hr ride time, top speed 50+

I’ve been considering one of those...they look like a lot of fun. I’ve been wondering how hard it would be to turn an old dirt bike into an electric motorcycle.

It honestly isn't hard to do! The mechanics of it are in the rear hub and battery pack. You can actually buy a controller (exactly like mine) on ebay for $70 to adjust everything from speed, to assist. The hard part will be where do you put your battery pack. This one runs off a LiPo (something iron) and it's basically the next generation of batteries from what I understand. Just really, really expensive.
