Whats up everyone. Im sure this has been discussed before. But what the heck.

Assuming everyone knowing about the recall expansion, a lot of people are now on that list.

It makes me wonder, with a lot of the hype on this recall, i haven't come across many that say their fuel pump took a shit on them on the road.

Im at 13K miles on my 19 OR and never felt a symptom of the fuel pump going bad. Heck, ive read some who are 75K plus in their truck and no issues.

I get why toyota issued a recall but im just wondering what the probability is of a fuel pump actually breaking on you.

After all is said and done, ill go in and get my pump swapped out but for the peace of mind, but damn what an inconvenience of loss of time.

    your thoughts?

How am I compensated for my time and inconvenience? To rectify THEIR problem. Will require two trips of 44 miles round trip. My time is expensive. Give me $100 Toyota and we can call it even.

I know it doesn’t help your traveling time, but my dealership knocked mine out in about 30 minutes instead of the 3 hours Toyota said it would. They said instead of dropping the whole tank they can loosen the tank, lower it and get to the pump. Hopefully you can schedule it around a trip you already need to go there for. It is an inconvenience for sure.

Right. I dont like anything about this. How about a percentage taken off a payment as credit or something to compensate

I have absolutely no need to go there. I bought one of these JUST SO I WILL NEVER HAVE TO GO THERE. If indeed I MUST go there, it's going to be because of some fucked up shit like this that they caused. Quite frankly, if I was in control at the NTSB I'd require car manufacturers to compensate their owners for the inconvenience, in addition to the expense of rectifying the design failure.

And another thing...I'm facing my THIRD head gasket failure on my '93 4Runner. They won't pay for this one they said. REALLY? YOU HAD TO PAY FOR THE FIRST TWO TOYOTA! IS THIS THIRD HEAD GASKET FAILURE ANY LESS YOUR DESIGN FLAW FAULT BECAUSE OF THE PASSAGE OF TIME? THE RECALL WAS ABSOLUTE. IT SHOULD ENDURE UNTIL THE END OF TIME. OWN IT BITCH! THIS IS ON YOU UNTIL THE VEHICLES ARE REBORN AS BUDWEISER CANS.

I have a 2019 with about 35,000 miles on it and mine is starting to go out I believe. I'm occasionally getting some very ruff idle and it gave a P0087 Fuel Rail/Pressure code the other day. I have an appointment next week to have the recall done.

No symptoms yet (2018 TRDOR with 42k) but I’m typing this in the waiting room at the dealership while it’s getting done. It would have kept bugging me if I didn’t and knew there was a chance it could fail.

Failure rate seems extremely low. Some people seem to get really get excited over this particular recall and get all fired up and upset, seemingly making it worse than it really is.
I'll get it taken care of whenever it's convenient for me.
