Install TRD Pro Fox or Bilstein 6112/5160?!

The pro shocks were all originally at one point, bilstein shocks (basically 6200s).

I think in 2020 all pros (aside from the taco of course) got Fox shocks.

 

2nd gen used bilsteins, 3rd gen used fox.

 

Yes, that's why I said "aside from the taco". Only recently the rest of the pro line received fox shocks.

 

Ah gotcha, I thought you were saying 2020 was when the tacoma got foxes, didnt catch on to what you meant by "taco"

 

My front fox gave me troubles but I have friends who love theirs

 

I think much of what he is saying (without actually saying it) with the "northern Midwest state that gets a lot of snow" part is that fox suspension rusts up pretty quick (springs, not the struts). This is not a issue in southern states, but also not a issue if you keep the shocks clean, and spray rust proofing on the springs too. All the failed pro suspensions I have seen pictures of look like they have been sitting at the bottom of a lake for the past 3 years.

TRD pro springs are not something you can buy right now, you can only get loaded struts from the dealer. But eibach is making a pro spring that will give people with rusted pro springs a chance to keep their fox struts.

 

I would dyno all the shocks, rate all the springs, and use real data to make my decision. I can do this for you.

 

I live in the south and had issues with mine. They sent me the wrong springs, then they were never “right” after that. They were Really nice about it and I don’t care to get into it on here. Fox made it right and they stood by there product so I give them that. I have kings now and have none of the same issues but maybe if I went fox again they would be fine idk. Stuff happens and life goes on
