I dont bait fish either.... Even when fishing I cover at least a mile of river lol.

 

Only thing i dont think is fair chase is high fence in a corral hunting...

Do/have any of y'all tried putting out goat or cow dewormer for deer, like late winter early spring when they are trying to recover some weight especially? I have read a lot of high fence areas do this which helps the great genetics reach their full potential. I mean here well into season there is plenty of food to eat because of row crops and late frost/freeze. But a 200 lb buck live weight is pretty massive and ive never seen a doe break 150; i just wonder if they are probed to parasites that keep them from gaining as much weight as possible and ultimately stunting their antlers... I always tell myself I'm gonna mix some in with corn long about march but I never do

 

I've never thought about it.

 

One thing the deer do hammer is a Trophy Rock. Little ones, mature doe, decent buck. Had to pull mine out 30 days before the season.

The guy who is building our shoot house said it won’t be done until tomorrow around 3:00, we have an hour and a half drive home, then we need to build a few shelves under the windows for the bipods and then we can go set it up, opener is Saturday morning...

On the plus side even though our food plot didn’t come in thick dad said there were so many tracks out there it looked like a herd came through.
Our plan is to hunt double to potentially get 2 deer down on opening day.

 

I agree totally. Baiting just became legal here last year I think. It has been illegal so long that its hard to change your way of thinking. I have not baited yet I guess Im still old school and pant fields. But when you think about it, I would be easier killed eating if someone dumped snickers bars on the ground vs planting cabbage…..

 

6 does and a scrubby 4 pointer today that’s it .

 

Friend whacked a bear yesterday . He was watching a nice buck headed towards him and the bear chased it . This made my friend angry ..

 

And thats why its great to shoot bears!

My wife was about to hop in the shower this morning and spotted a 4 pt in the back about 500 yards out and called me in there... It was worth my cereal getting a little soggy to see a buck naked lady looking at a deer through a rifle scope out my bathroom window... Oh and seeing the deer was cool too
