That >8,000 lb. winch is a waste of money.

Your method would be a sight to see in the desert or at the beach with no trees or stout trees not in a good location . Also sounds like more failure points to hurt a vehicle or bystander.

I had stamped set of blue prints for a 5500 sq/ft home that used decimal instead of fractional measurements everywhere. I laughed me ass off. These where stamped meaning they had gone through the towns plan check. So, the architect missed it, the structural engineer missed it and the head inspector missed it.

I took out my calc and converted every number on the architectural and structural pages to fractional inches. Then I called the architect and asked if he could verify my math. He pulled up the plans and went: "WTF? Sorry man. I'll print off a new set and get them to you today." lol

I don't think homie is coming back, he knows he's a joke. Probably gone onto irate4x4.com to preach hand winching with 400 pulleys or something

Well if we're analogizing with fictional characters, I'd say we are the French knights upon the castle wall. We're just hoping for @TomHGZ to make another charge as we'd be all too happy to taunt him a second time.

Good god this was a long read. You all need to leave this man alone. I'm an expert fire starter, and his logic is sound. I would much rather carry a couple sticks and string to make a bow drill fire than carry a lighter and fire starter. It is way cheaper and way lighter.

You don't need to carry sticks and strings, you can just get a piece of wood and catch it on fire from the winch when it burns up :bananadead:
