I could think of numerous applications for these lights if I could get them cheaper than what is listed online!

Your comparing VXs new lights against RIs original lights

WRONG AGAIN I have the reflex series released not that long after the RI E series around two years ago I think. I was comparing those with the RI not the new VX lights both use 10w LED's but differant reflectors by the looks.
You are thinking of the new prime range like I said I do not have any of these yet.

VX lights are made in China

WRONG AGAIN VX are made in Korea and USA The patriot is made in the US all the other lights are made in Korea. Guess where a key component of the RI lights are made Korea. Ask your RI man and see if he will tell you which part it is. They let it slip at SEMA 2009 the poor guy telling us got the evil eye from another RI sales guy. I am not sure why as its no secret this day and age that companies have components made off shore than assemble at home.

I was not trying to argue your comment or call you out in any way.

Sure does read that way have you read your post ?

The 10w LED creates to much heat, which is why he said they will be having over heating issues.
I have been using them for a while now with no issues and up north it is hot around 95-F and up. I think you are under the impression that the 10w lightbars are new. As I said above they have been around for a while now. The new prime range are the new 10w version.

I can only talk about the customer service I receive from my retailer over here and it is great. They even let me swap the 10deg I purchased for the 15deg after I relized I should of got the 15's. I liked my RI lights I am just saying my VX lights out perform them.

Built quality is great for both lights but after removing the end cap on the Rigid light so I could replace the length of the side mounting stud I was very suprised to find a very small rubber seal that needs the use of silicon to seal that part of the light. The vision X use a rubber o'ring that seals the whole light no chance of leaking. The new version has a IP-68 rating that can handle 3ft under water. So there is no questioning the built quality of VX lights.

It will be good to see how the new 5w lightbars go but i think I will be sticking with my VX lights for awhile.

Yes, all the lights I sell are discounted from the MSRP on their website. Unfortunatley, with the smaller lights I can't do a whole lot but the bigger bars I can definitely save you some money. PM if you are interested in a specific size.

The duallys are a 2x2 lens with a 3x3 housing. The new ones look very similar, but I do not have exact specs on them yet. As soon as I get more info on them I will let everyone know.

Hey Mate Vision X & Rigid Industries owner thanks. The Dingo never got my baby I had the Vision X lights on not the RI's so I seen it coming from a km away and shot it dead.
I am camping at walkabout creek this weekend just got to watch out for the croc's at night lucky the VX's will be lighting up the camp site :p.

Mate you could be waiting awhile or than again borrow more money from China to kick some life into the Economy what’s another 900 trillion dollars I am sure you guys a good for it.
Or you could always start rapping the land and mine the crap out of everything like our Government does than sell it all to China.

    cheers

G'day... good to hear you all the way from Down Under!

When they are done digging up Western Australia for all the metals buried there, it would make one heck of a great OFF ROAD PARK! Of course it is nearly the size of the western half of the USA!

I have been to the Outback and climbed Ayers Rock... lived in Darwin, missed getting bit by a croc, however!

    G'day!

I'd like to see some other night shots of the duallys in action if anybody has them. How much brighter would the duallys be than say a 6000K 35W KC HID conversion?

Just spoke to someone in the off road racing industry about LEDs... seems that they have discovered the LEDs do not project through heavy dust well at all, but instead cause blinding dust particle reflection back upon the driver. They are great as fog lights or wide beam lights up close to the vehicle... but not so much for long distance lighting needed for high speed off road racing.

Since most here are not Baja 1000 racers, that news probably doesn't have any negatives... When most of us are four wheeling in the back country, we are not doing so fast, or in a cloud of dust behind another truck. LEDs are indeed bright and draw tiny amounts of power.

Thought it deserved to be shared and discussed, anyway...

That's why they make amber LEDs versions. The white ones are not going to project through the dust but the amber ones will

What I would like is a more detailed description of what these companies are selling... like what kind of LEDs? Lux III, Lux V, P4, Q5 or what? And what power is each LED seeing? What color bins are used or speced? Its like they thing their customers are not smart enough to understand or something and this has always kept me away from offroad LED lights while I buy high end LED flashlights. If I had these answers the price would be easier to swallow.

Ditto! I mean "3W LED" says jack about the bin or tint. That's one big reason I've been holding off. Obviously they aren't the 3mm or 5mm size, but you're right, they could be some Luxeon stuff. Though, even older Cree isn't bad... Are their optics in front of each LED to help focus the light, or is it all reflector based? Are the LEDs being overdriven? If so, how's that affecting the lifespan of the LED? Will the companies replace LEDs if they burn out?

As for the dust, yeah, LED's have that problem in fog too. I have a feeling it has to do with the lack of full spectrum light. I'd be curious to see how the yellow LEDs stack against yellow halogens.

Like btuner said, they make amber LEDs just for that reason and they do excellent in the dust and fog.

    x2

I know what you mean. Have you tried contacting them and asking these questions? The guy I deal with at Rigid is very helpful. If you would like to PM me what info you would like to see I will forward it to him and try to get some answers for you...if you want.

The amber series do a very good job of cutting through both dust and fog. They kick ass under those conditions.
