I'm looking at caliraised pods for some ditch lights. I'm kinda liking the side projector model but have no experience in ditch lights. Anyone have any of these or have any thoughts? Thanks

That’s awesome that they got it to you so fast. I wish I could get a new front bumper. Some day maybe. My dog looks like yours. Looks like neither of them will put up with much!

    Hey Guys,
I received my CPlay2air last week. I am trying to see if this will work with my 2019 TRD Pro and the instructions are pretty horrible. I just want see what Carplay will look in my truck or do I have to spend crazy money on changing it to some kind of aftermarket radio. I have been trying to see if my truck will recognize this CPlay2air but everything I have tried, nothing seems to work.

Any help with this world be appreciated. This might not even work with the 2019 so I might have wasted my money for nothing but their web site so this will work from 2016-2020 Tacoma.

Your head unit needs to support CarPlay via usb cable already. The CPlay2air simply allows a CarPlay capable head unit to connect wirelessly to the phone.

edit: For what it’s worth, someone will buy that off you I’m sure as waiting for them to ship from China is a pain. Mine took about 3 weeks to arrive from China.

I’ve got the side projector ones. Puts out A LOT of light. Easy hook up also.

A black small USB Lightning cable hides pretty much behind that trim piece. Held down with the fuzzy side of Velcro you can barely even see it. I use a right angle USB adapter for the USB side of the cable so the cable doesn't stick out into the cup holder spot. Charges the battery at the same time as the CarPlay works.

How can you find out if 2019 Tacoma JBL head unit supports CarPlay? Is there anyway I can find out or is it just good for the 2020 Tacoma.

I’m fairly certain the stock tacoma head units did not have CarPlay capability till the 2020 model and above.

edit: in the Toyota app (or even the window sticker) it lists CarPlay as a feature on my 2020 OR under vehicle specs.

I did the same thing with the right angle cable. I used 3m double sided adhesive to secure it to the back of the QI cubby. Works great, as long as you are using a normal sized phone and not a phablet. I know I’m getting old as I don’t understand why phones keep getting bigger and bigger. :annoyed:

It doesn't. 2020 is when they started supporting it

So, why does the company say this works on Toyota's 2016-2020? If this is no good for me and someone wants it, please let me know.

Pretty sure there were other model Toyota’s that did have car play during those years, just not Tacoma’s.

Here is the bit that was overlooked on their website.

I thought there were a few years before 2020 where you could download and add CarPlay.
