What Chainsaw do you run?

I don't know. Mine are Stihl brand.

You need to find out what material is used to stop the chain - the stuff on the inside. I'm sure you pay extra for Stihl brand - but it is a known good. A trip to the ER will cost you a lot more than $81.00.

Oh, see where each is manufactured. I wouldn't trust my leg/life to something made overseas - too much counterfeit merchandise.

 

I’m still on my first gallon of the husky fuel. 95 octane 50:1. It increased the warranty period.... saw runs happy .. I’ll be playing with different fuel products and see if I can find something cheaper in the non- ethanol. I have wawa 89 non ethanol 50:1 mix that I’ll be trying soon

Around here, some of the gas stations sell non-ethanol. I use 90 octane, with Stihl oil (50:1) and my tools like it. 89 should be enough octane for your saw. Check your manual to be sure.

Side note: For most of the spring/summer, I ran non-ethanol in the truck. We were camping by the lake a lot, and one station up there had 3 different octanes of non-ethanol for about $0.20/gallon more than E10. I figured why not - especially since I wasn't driving the truck every day.

 

Husky states 90 octane or better... I’ll see what happens

Stihl all day long. basically indestructible. I've been rolling a Farm Boss for years with non-ethanol gas. No additives that get gummy if they sit too long. Starts right up

 

Not my set up. I met a 4 man tree crew company and they have no need for the trees they take down for there customers. So they text me and ask if I want what’s down if the owners are ok with it.... kinda like we pat each other’s back. They don’t have to get rid of the wood and we cut and haul the wood... most of what my brother and I do is give wood to people who can’t afford to heat there homes. Whatever is left in our dried section we sell off which then goes for maintenance on the machinery.

Just 2 brothers and kids playing with wood and helping people at the same time.... hard to beat that

Haven’t seen them in action so I don’t know what equipment they use. I’m sure one day I’ll see how they do it.

Brother joes and I have the 550 xpmk2 . I run a 20” bar joe an 18” bar. Mine is 2 weeks old and his 10 gallons old. Both run awesome and Serve our needs. I really wanted a step up but I felt as if I were wasting money on something I probably won’t make much with. How’s that 562!

Question.... seeing nice hardwood on the side of the road that’s been cut possibly by the township... would anyone stop and pick it up? It’s scattered and not stacked but easily accessible....
