I up mine every year. Have since I started.

 

I really should have, but didn't make good decisions till about 3 and a half years ago and taking awhile to get my shit somewhat together still. Hopefully I'll be ok by retirement if I live that long.

 

Guess we’ll both find out when we get there. Haha


The way craps been going we’ll probably have to work to 70.

Glad I started early. I need to really cut back on my spending though and start dumping more into my 401k and IRA accounts. Will probably up my 401k after the holidays and give my investment manager a call.

 

I started with 5 retirements. Then a couple years ago they decided to combine them all into one. Do believe we got the shaft on that deal. Wish they would have started a fire dept way back there and I’d be vested in the fire pension by now too. That’s a great deal with that one. Idk why there’s never been a EMS pension plan. But then we’re like the red headed step child anyway so it is what it is. Whatever.

 

Ya the only good thing about working for the bank I worked at was they matched 5% of my 401k contribution and I got a pension (had I stayed). Now I don’t get any match but I do get free health insurance so I put that money into the 401k. I think Im at 10% into 401k right now. I still need to rollover my old 401k to a my IRA with my investment manager and start contributions to my IRAs. Once the truck is paid off I’ll be putting the usual payment amount into just my regular investment account. Hopefully be able to retire at 50 haha

 

They match up to 6% on ours and our Ins is free as long as it’s just us. I cover myself and my son on dental though. I thought about doing an IRA but haven’t yet. I’ve got mine in a 457b now. I’m setup to retire at 55 under rule of 75. Which is years of service plus your age equal 75 you can retire. I’ll hit it at 50 but you have to be 55 to draw it so I get an extra 5 years.
