@GHOST SHIP, great job. Is that one of the first 3-wheelers 1973-1974? an ATC70.

I remember being 12-13 years old in 1973-74 and seeing two of these cruising our local trails. Strangest damn thing I had ever seen, well kinda. There were a lot of amphibious 6-wheel rides in that era. I remember one being red like yours and the other was a green one.

We have one of those 6 wheel things in our shop right now. Shop owner picked it up at an auction and since we've been a little slow our maintenance guys and machinists have been messing with it. Got it cleaned up and running pretty good. Will try and get a pic to post.

Would love to have one of those if I had a place to drive it! (Same thoughts about owning a Rokon.)

The main owner of our company has a brother in law who owns an auction service so whenever something "interesting" is coming up for auction our big boss goes. We've ended up fixing up all sorts of crazy stuff through the years and fixing some stuff that if he didn't own this company and have folks working on his stuff like we do here he could never afford to repair. I think the problem is he's got enough money that cost isn't really a factor but if he were actually paying out of pocket like most of us have to do he'd shit himself. We've repaired a manure spreader that was so rusted out I don't see how our welder found enough solid material to weld to. Sometimes we have to actually call him out on stuff at his unrealistic expectations. One time he wanted us to CNC out of aluminum new wheels for the lower rack of his dishwasher after one of them broke. We ordered a full replacement set off Amazon for about $11.00.

Thanks! It’s an 84 but they didn’t really change much during their production run. The biggest identifiers were the decals.

And a photo of that model I pulled off the net to show what it looked like.

Wait until I can shoot the gap up front and go for it. I don't like being surrounded by cars on 3 sides, I'd much prefer to speed a little and be in front than go the speed limit and not have an out route.

I usually slow down and the car behind moves over to the left. This kind of situation is where you have to pay attention to how you use speed and lane position to move the cars around you and make sure you have a place to go. It better to slow a bit in my opinion and open up space over time a build a cushion in front for yourself and maybe get the car out from directly behind. I would definitely stay in the left of the lane so there is a place to move right if the car to left merges, and so that any car trying to move around me has to move fully into the left lane. Basically I’m going to build a front right cushion, if I can for myself.

Rode the Deth Trap around the neighborhood today. These tires are way too grippy for the street. I need to find some dirt. Since the rear end is essentially a “locked“ solid axle, if I make a turn too tight the rear wheels push the trike in a straight line and the front wheel looses traction (2 vs 1). I’d imagine in dirt I can get a little spin on the inside tire to help with that. Also, I can do wheelies in second gear easily without even trying. Even though I’m 30 pounds over the suggested rider limit.
