I returned the Princess auto winch after careful consideration. It wasn’t rated to be water proof, and I don’t think the relay box could be relocated easily. Instead I bought a Runva from Costco

    It’s the 11,000lbs winch.
That should get me out of trouble :)

9x9” tiles glued down prior to 1990ish are verily likely to contain asbestos. Not a huge deal to pry them up since very little would become airborne, but often the glue (black mastic) had asbestos too. Grinding that off into dust could be bad news.

Oh, no, they were not glued down, and "pry" is not a word for how the tiles came up.

Apparently the tile was laid in the late 90's early 2000's if my neighbour is correct.

I mean, absolute worst case, it did, and now my house is filled with asbestos, just hope I get to finish the kitchen before I die :fingerscrossed:

    Sorry! ( not sorry )

also I found this... anyone want to go splits on a few 1uz's?

I bet we could talk him down to $2200 which would make for $1100 per car...

That's the same kit I was looking at for the Supra.

Funfact, you should be able to use any UZ with any R series tranny (provided the shaft length will work).

Also, LS400s are front sump, I'm not 100% sure which we would need to clear the crossmember and front diff

I wouldn't worry about it. I probably have so much asbestos inside me at this point my lungs are fireproof. I do hope you are wearing a mask though, silica from the concrete dust is just about as bad

I have a P100 mask I wear for most things like that, I'll need new filters for it now though, it was rough.

1uz would be a pretty good upgrade for the 4 cylinder trucks. For the V6 trucks they make the same power pretty much everywhere, so the 2uz would be needed to actually be an upgrade.

If I was going to do it, I would go for a 2uz, same effort, more gain!

I have to get my E30 together and running for next summer. Otherwise I would be hunting down a cheap 2UZ 4Runner or Tundra to swap the motor over. Was thinking of using an R150 as they all came with the manual transfer cases already, but I suspect the R155 would be easier to find with less mileage these days, and the FJ tcase swap is pretty simple.

Right now I am debating between replacing all my shocks with new factory spec stuff, or going to the 6112/5160 with an Icon progressive AAL in the rear. Or even going a little wilder and get the FOX stuff.

The FJ swap is super simple, especially with an r155, you don't even have to swap input shafts!!

And you might as well twin stick it, never know when 2 lo might come in handy...

I don't think I would need a twin stick with how much grunt the 2UZ produces down low and the 4.22 rev gear in the 5 speed boxes. 4Lo is super handy with the RA60 cause the gear ratios in that box are all wonky.

I think twin sticks just add cool factor more than functionality honestly! Toss a doubler in there and you'll have more sticks than you know what to do with!
