So I’m looking for a good rubber protectant mostly for tires to get that matte new tire look and have some UV protection.

I know everyone loves 303 but I heard it washes right off with water. I was looking at aero cosmetics rubber care. But it’s pretty pricey.

I’ve sprayed armor all protectant on tires and was supprised how good it worked even in dirt the tires weren’t totally caked (just not sure if it’s good for tires or not?) I also used some 303 on tires but they’ve just been sitting for a couple days so I haven’t seen the results. Theirs a fleet of trucks I keep clean and I’m kinda testing stuff on them.

    Any suggestions?

    I don't and me thinks it's way over rated.:D
Duragloss #253 Tire and Rubber Mat Dressing and Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel are a couple that come to mind. To many choices. Depends on whether your a local over the counter purchaser or whether you order from places like AutoGeek.
ArmorAll wont harm the tires, they changed there formula a long time ago.

Thanks for the reply I’ll check those out. I usually just try to get stuff on eBay most the time.

Carpro Perl. Excellent. Product. I would use Autogeek. They run sales all the time.

Duragloss 253. Hands down the best tire dressing I've found. And I've tried many. One coat and tires just look matte black and new. Additional coats amp up the shine if wanted. Durability is great. A month if it doesn't get wet. It'll even last through a couple good rains or car washes.

Also great on any textured black or gray exterior plastic. Darkens things up a bit and gives it a finished look without being greasy or shiny. Bed rails, wiper cowl, and bumper covers, for example.

I broke down and bought Aero Cosmetics Rubber care for my tires. Been scrubbing and cleaning them with Chemical Guys stuff with frankly not good results. One treatment as directed of the Aero and the brown junk is gone and the tires look fantastic, no sheen at all. Good stuff.

I have been using Opti-Bond tire gel since 2015--still using the same bottle as it goes a long way. Water-based, too. I use a foam pad and rub it on the tires once, remove excess, coat them once more. Very happy with the results.

I picked up on sale one of Autogeek's house brand . I hadn't intended to pick buy it and was actually going to eventually buy the Optimum one when I ran out of my McKee's 37 tire dressing but it was priced at 50% off. I'm pretty sure it's essentially the same formula as Optimum and some others maybe Tuf Shine? They all seem to have a blue dye look when applying.

I'm really impressed with how well it's held up for more than 6 months now. To be fair my truck isn't daily driven but it does live outside. I've put little effort in maintenance besides a quick swish with a brush while the truck is being washed with just car shampoo. The tires have a nice matte black look, nothing shiny. Two of these tires are over 85K miles and look brand new.

I'm of the KISS principle. (KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid)

Use Simple Green to clean the tires. Spray liberally, scrub with a nylon bristle brush, hose off with strong stream of water, let dry. Done

Tires look like tires. No need to "protect them" from UV. They have inhibitors in the rubber to preserve the tire. Sure, the tires will degrade, but not before I wear them out. Just can't justify $$ for little or no benefit.

Sorry, but I don't agree there. Yes, rubber has some degree of UV resistance, but if it actually had enough, nobody's tires would dry rot from UV exposure. And we've all had tires dry rot from exposure. In fact if you live where there's lots of direct sunlight on your tires, you really have issues. Adding some additional degree of UV resistance as well as a desired level of additional blackness / gloss isn't going to hurt anything. And tire dressing is far less expensive than new tires.
