agreed from most that i understood in georgia they had reasonable amount of attempts to fix the issue and then its covered under lemon law. (*thats the same as Massachusetts)

hahah I have legal counsel through my employer, he already said there are things that can be done. Possible waving first months payment etc. stop assuming so much about my life.

Again Kudos to the people who have something good to say. I actually had a member PM me. He has the same issue, cyl 5 broken exhaust spring, been without the truck now for a week. He MIGHT have the truck purchased back or a replacement provided. Not holding his breathe. We just chatted on the phone for 30 mins. Cool dude. Thats why i came on here. Its the positive interactions that do make up for the negativity. Hope the best to him and any others in this situation.

the lawyer told me 15 days of 1 repair, or 3 separate repairs for the same issue is the MA lemon law. There was something else about even after the 15 days that they might have another 7 days to repair it. At this point need to go with the flow. Im not happy and have every right to do what im doing.

at this point i dont even want a new truck. knowing what i know now, there is an obvious defect with cyl 5 exhaust valve most likely due to assembly contact with equipment weakening the spring. so any new truck provided can have the failure until toyota finds out why and recalls the vehicles effected.

I would hold off on getting a new 3.5L taco until there is a remedy here or you could easily be in the same situation

the last communication i had with the dealer was to void this contract and give me my money back. They refused of course. Will see what happens

is that a 2021 issue because mine is going strong at 17k miles I dont think the data supports it being a wide spread issue

its probably not just 2021 as this has been known about since before 2021s launched.

like i said prevously, if techs know about this issue, people deeper in the manufacturer know all about this issue. When i worked for nissan and went to training you would be surprised the knowledge the techs and professors have of current issues.

Good luck, Toyota lawyer’s are a giant conglomerate, just like the company. They can afford anything, like a year in court.
    Good luck.

started violently shaking while on the highway @ 70 mph and engine stalled loss of power steering and power brakes of course. started up and barely ran enough to get off the highway, but then died again and wouldnt start or even sputter. This is a safety issue for sure. luckily i was in good enough spot to make it off the road. for everyone flaming me for being pissed. how would you feel if your wife or kids were driving this on the highway and lost power steering and power brakes? Not a good situation

I owned my truck for almost 2 weeks before I noticed hail damage on the roof and soaking wet carpet under the rear seats. Had to push hard for a few days but I got them to replace it. Don’t settle for less than a new truck. They can and will do it but it won’t be easy. They’re going to tell you no for a few days. You need to be talking to the general manager, not the service dept.

Toyota should bring back a ''Classic 2015 4.0 A750f'' Taco to the market.

I will say I'd hate for my brand spanking new truck to have the engine ripped apart and tossed back together by some guy on the clock with a time frame to follow and get paid by.

I would agree, but the fact that you still have the warranty for the work for another 50k/5 years should put your mind at ease.

Based on what little I've heard, I'd say this is NOT a common issue, although definitely severe and shouldn't happen to something so new. But, on the bright side, it happened when it was new so you aren't on the hook for the repair. In the time I've researched this truck and in the time I've been on here, I've only heard of this happening 3x to someone. All 3x have been in this thread and 2 of those are coming from the OP.

If I were the OP, I'd be asking for all new springs so that hopefully others aren't also defective. Maybe new valves in case there's a seating issue. However, since it was working properly before, I'd say the valve seating isn't an issue.

As I said many times, I could see them trading for a similarly spec'd truck (which they aren't obligated to do), but definitely not a "steep discount" on an upgraded model. If you approached with that same attitude, of course they're going to tell you to get fucked. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I am interested in hearing the end result of they get it fixed.

Agreed ive gotten farther with a rational calm conversation and a smile than stomping my feat and complaining.

So your didn't get a new truck, a new Pro-Bro at deep discounts nor your STI back

Look this sucks, but I you came out swing for the fences :muscleflexing: and seem to have settled back and will most likely now get something accomplished.

dont assume i came out guns blazing my friends. I started to get really pissed when the service manager treated me like a second class citizen. condescending and rude at best. says he has been doing it for 30 yrs. you would think after 30 yrs you would know how to talk to a customer, especially one whose $45k brand new truck just left him stranded on the highway after an unsafe engine failure. Like i said, in my experience in the field as a tech, i have seen my managers deal with customers. I shouldnt be treated poorly! none of us should

Cool thing is that with your offroad you didn't lose power brakes unless you turned the key off since they are electrical not engine vacuum boosted.

For what its worth, the two shitty dealers in my area threw a fit and fell overthemselves to fix an issue once I left them an honest, but embarrassing rating on Dealerater
It got under their skin in a way that Google reviews and Yelp did not.

If it is anything like your original post (which has since been edited), I don't think anyone would be unreasonable to assume you went in guns blazing. In my experience dealing with people, there's always 2 sides to every story and the truth is somewhere in the middle.
