Has there ever been a GB for Redarc products?

Been looking a long time for an in-vehicle battery charger or intelligent isolation solenoid (the solid state ones are heat-sensitive but they charge up to 100% while the solenoid-driven ones like Nat'l Luna are more bulletproof but only charge up to about 98%.)

The best price I found on a Redarc is here (note I derive no income or reputation from this link): https://backwoodsoverland.com/product/redarc-bcdc1220-20a-in-vehicle-dc-battery-charger-bcdc1220/ and wondering if anyone knows of a better price elsewhere? Perhaps I should wait for black Friday sales? Were they on sale then anywhere last year?

Note: the link above is for the 20A version, not the 25A one which is about $50 more on the same website.

Finally, in order to not create a new thread elsewhere, does anyone know if the gen 3 Tacomas (specifically my 2019 TRD Sport w/tow pkg) have a so-called "smart alternator" or is it a standard one? I've seen this mentioned on some products and wondered about it. TIA!

3rd gen Alt is controlled by the ECU. Believe that makes it a "smart" Alt.

Never seen a GB on them and yes you have what they call a "smart" alternator. Sale or not they are awesome! the BCDC1225 is the common one you will see unless you run more than 2 batteries. There are some older ones that are less. Unless you need more I would look for the BCDC1225 setup.

Is that because you can't use the fuse trick to make the alternator output a little extra voltage for an AGM battery?

Yes because the ECU controls it the fuse trick that second gens can use does not work for 3rd gens.

Never ordered from them but others have said that they are good. I found Amazon cheaper due to free shipping for the Redarc but I would have to use a credit card...

I ended up ordering Redarc products from main line overland and got 10% off. Best deal I’ve found.

So, 4wd.com has a sale on the BCDC1225D, $381.xx which matches a lot of other places, but they also have a 10% discount code that I can't remember at the moment, think it was 4wd10 anyway, they won't ship to WA, OR, CA states so I went to etrailer.com who not only price matched but also gave me an additional 10% of the price difference! free shipping to anywhere in the USA also. So, done deal finally!

nice. should pick up the SBI12 solenoid so you can use aux battery as jump start just in case main battery is dead.

I pieced together the Jump start ready dual battery kit instead of buying everything from redarc directly.
