It’s really not too bad. A lot of the steps are like “gather these parts.” Or “put locktite on this.”

6-7 hours if you have everything ready and have pro level tools and years of experience.

probably 9 hours if you are a decent parts changer with electric ratchets and impacts

12 hours if you are a good parts changer with old school tools.

A full weekend if you have basic tools + rent the other things you need and basic wrenching ability.

a full weekend if you are a professional certified mechanic because you are already too tired of working on cars and will drink a beer after each bolt.

add a couple hours for installing boost gauges and other accessories. Getting my boost gauge how I wanted it took almost as long as the SC install lol.

I was just poking fun. But yes, some of the steps are pretty quick and easy. It was more a comment about the detailed write up they provided.

I’m interested myself, but probably not until I have a travel trailer. Can’t justify it for commuting.

The guys installing mine wanted 4 days, but he assured me that is only because they can’t guarantee turn around times on getting the software back from Magnuson. I’m paying $1,800 which I’m fine with since I want the Magnuson power train warranty because I’m intending on selling this truck to friends as soon as I can get the Rivian R1T.

Not trying to be a dick here but SFOB on premium gas drives like a completely different truck. The low end torque is amazing and you can really feel it in the high end as well. First gear is absolutely nuts compared to stock tune.

Im just a bit surprised that you said that you didnt feel much difference, it really is night and day.

Nearly $8500 for this kit installed. That’s some coin. Then again, the Rivian will pull the framebolts off this truck (and many others). You’ll pay that price of admission too. Once they get battery packs that can provide the same towing distance as a full tank of petrol, it’ll be interesting to see what it does to the full size market.

For towing I think the Cybertruck and the Hummer EV will be the ones to watch. Speaking of, Hummer launch is right now!

They have huge torque numbers, but put some drag behind them or some elevation on the route, and that battery starts running low pretty quickly. Like most things, where there’s demand, manufacturers will figure it out. 5-10 more years and I’ll bet batteries are double the energy density they are now.

Mine is MT. I used the OV Tune 93 octane tune for a while. It did feel great. It was a different truck. But recently I went the Magnuson route. It also feels great. It was installed by a Toyota dealer. Got the fuel pump recall done at the same time plus got a loaner car for 3 days.

For the dollar amount, I have to say the OV Tune gives you the most smiles per dollar.

Now, if OV Tune can make a Tacoma MT with the stock engine that great, imagine what can be done with a tuned SC.
    IMHO.

Very nice. I wonder what things are going to look like for the 5000 people that buy into (and receive) one of these startup manufacture vehicles, and the company goes belly up after 5 years and they are left with trying to keep an original $80k vehicle.

The same guys involved with Nikola that went belly up at Fiskar. GM has been working on hydrogen fuel cell technology since the early-mid 90s and still haven't had a viable solution how could investors think a small startup like Nikola could crack that one. Nikola is a scam and will be exposed as such unfortunately. They already partly were when it was revealed they did the rolling demonstration on sloped roads and their vehicles never moved under their own power. Teslas new battery tech is looking really promising as far as li-ion power goes however.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
    Nice looking engine bay!
I think if you rotated your catch can counter clockwise and switched hose fittings, the hoses would follow each other a bit closer upon exit. Just my OCD/ 2 pennies.
    Boost on boost brother.
