TACO GARAGE - Dashtop Multi Mount (DMM) CLEAN and SOLID Tacoma accessory mounting

That's what I'm wondering adn trying to figure out, the radio I use doesn't have a separate mic so I dont have a personal radio I can test it with... I modeled it after another "universal" mount but I don't know how universal it actually is... thats

Will this work with MagSafe on the new iPhone 12?

I have the DMM and was using Quadlock on my previous phone, just picked up the mini but I’m over the quadlock so now I’m trying to find another phone mount option. MagSafe would be awesome, even without charging, just has a magnet mount.

 

If you're still looking for testers, I'd gladly try it with my CB mic.

 

@FreshMexicanTaco hate to bug you.... I'm going to order the DMM and want to order the new magnetic tablet mount. Do you think it will be on the site today? Planning a road for Thanksgiving week and hope to have everything installed by then. Thanks!

 

Just got my DMM in the mail today, super quick turnaround— I think 4 days to get to me in Southern California. Excited to get this in tomorrow— I really want to run my usb input to it, I’m pretty confident that it’s simple to tuck behind the head unit, but if anyone has a link/YouTube/how-to, it would be very appreciated. Also, @FreshMexicanTaco I will gladly check my mic on your universal mount if you’re still looking for testers

I sent the first test units out already so as soon as I hear back from them I'll either make it available for purchase or make a new free batch for you to test.

 

I have not had an iphone to test these magnets on, I understand that all the OEM magsafe accesories are not really held on with a significant force and I dont know if thats due to the weak magnets on the accesories or the phone itself. Once I can get one on my hand ill bring it up.

PS. @FreshMexicanTaco - for a 10" tablet (Galaxy Tab s6) is the short arm included in the magnet mounting kit all I need to mount it onto DMM?
Or should I get the dual-socket arm as well?

 

If you get the full mounting kit, the arm is included.

 

I did - wasn't sure if one arm that's included is enough.

 

Sounds like a good plan.

 

MagSafe will fall off this mount. I tried with a similar magnetic mount made by Arkon and the magnet on the iPhone is just too weak. I even tried placing the apple MagSafe charger on the magnetic mount which sticks to the magnet very well but the iPhone still falls off with a slight bump.
