Morning Creed! Thanks for asking, they’re actually scheduled to be delivered today. I just heard the UPS truck on its morning route and was disappointed and excited when all that arrived was this!
Looks like they’ll be on the afternoon delivery.
These spindles can’t come soon enough, I need to get this thing buttoned up and out of my shop so I can receive the load of lumber and siding that’s supposed to show up tomorrow!

I have 45 of these to make which is a large production run for us, we usually make <5 of something.

Our mill doesn’t have a tool changer and I was dreading changing parts numerous times and tools.

It hit me on the way in, use a 3/16” end mill (the size of the small holes) and do it all at one time.

I faced one end off yesterday, doing it all in one step now :bananadance:

It's getting a bronze bushing pressed in the 3/8" hole and it goes in a uniform facility. Not sure what it does there though.

Silicone will still catch you up quick!

I'm just giving you a hard time though.

I never thought much about it, but now that it's my ass if someone gets hurt I'm like a bulldog. I've ripped people's chains off their necks... I'm not the most popular person anymore.

I agree, I probably shouldn't wear it while working. I've heard of them being caught and stuff.

I used to wear a stainless one I made and stopped after tacking something together welding with no glove and a spark got attached to it and it got hot fast. It was my fault.

This is going to be fun when I get to it. Customer wants to mill 3/8” off of the top of this so he can weld it to something. He welded a bar to it for support.

They’re classified as pliers-wrench. They have locking grip range settings, are gear reduced, and hold parallel to not slip off bolts or hex fittings. So in simple terms, a multi-sixteenths, semi-automatic, crescent wrench!
We’ll see how they work out. I’m sure they’ll have their place in my tool chest!
    • Smooth jaws for damage free installation of plated fittings - working directly on chrome!
    • Adjustable tightening tool
    • Also excellent for gripping, holding, pressing and bending workpieces
    • Push the button for adjustment on the workpiece
    • Zero backlash jaw pressure prevents damage to edges of sensitive components
    • Parallel jaws give a more solid grip; its design allows flexible adjustment of all widths up to the specified maximum size
    • Reliable catching of the hinge bolt: no unintentional shifting
    • The ratchet type principle allows quick and easy tightening and release of all bolted connections
    • Lever transmission greater than 10 : 1 for strong gripping power
    • Chrome vanadium electric steel, forged, oil-hardened

I called in a professional so it can be done before Thanksgiving.
I asked him what size socket he was using and he said “I think fourteen thousand”
    He sounds legit!
