What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

spent 6 hours undercoating my 19 tacoma sport with fluid film, and woolwax. total time was set up, prep, spray the product, clean up, and then wash truck from over spray. i found the fluid film is lighter and creeps into seams, and areas not seen. woolwax is a little thicker, and lasts a little longer than the FF (best used on frame, wheel wells, and bottom of box/cab flooring).



sprayed approx 2 quarts of FF, and about 1.5 qts of WW. this is the trucks second treatment. last year when new, before the first snow/salt event it was coated with FF.



my theory is, a heavy coating of corrosion protection, before the first snow/salt. then clean the undercarrige best possible after big driving events in salt. let the rain do it's thing all spring, summer, then re-coat in fall before snow. it has worked remarkably well on our 2017 gmc sierra.



after watching the last two trucks (02, and 09 gmc sierra) rot at the rockers, bottom of doors, and bottom of tail gate, with zero protection, other than washing. i key on those areas, making sure to get the frame, suspension, oil/trans pans, everything metal except brake rotors. the control arm bushings on both trucks, are still shiny silver steel (raw, unpainted, not stainless). only areas i noticed rust on was, the top of the left rear shock bolt/nut, and a few small spots on raw steel/iron suspension parts. all areas noted were heavily coated with the sprays.





the stuff works, if you keep up on it but, it is a yearly application. hoping both trucks last us 15 years, treating them this way. i am tired, refreshment time! LOL! Ski

 

Replace the bolt and washers on my 0-tracks with jack nuts for 2 of my bed rails. Still need to do the 2 bigger rails, but I need help getting the bolts and nuts out for the bigger rails. These rails will be used to hold my kayak, bikes, or even my mini bike (only 100 lbs)

 

Front hitch mount looks interesting. Do you have a different angle? Where did you get it?

 

What size tires. I’ve got 265/75R16s on a stock suspension and everyone says mudflaps cause rubbing with the front wheels but these look thinner. Looks awesome by the way.

 

Put gunmetal Ray10s on my truck yesterday and I can’t stop looking out the front window. Great looking truck!

 

Appreciate it, man. Tires are 265/70/17s also on stock suspension. So far, I’ve only gotten just the rear mudflaps, but wondering if I should go full set with the fronts. So no idea if it’ll rub or not, yet.

 

I ordered some of the new Diode Dynamics SS3 Max yellow fog lights. I just installed the SS3 Pro’s and I was thinking about getting another set for my Outback XT so I plan on swapping those over to my Outback and upgrading the Tacoma.

Thanks! When I said “these” I meant the boxes, so “only” one rack. I got the Alpha cab rack with matching super white side panels and lots of Baja Designs lights and the new @MESO scenePOD 2.0s.

 

Plasti-Dipped my TRDOR wheels for the winter.

 

Had the hardest time finding a place for this gain control knob for my OEM Audio+ dedicated sub amp. Kinda happy with the outcome and damn it sounds even better now. Only negative to it is the bright ass LED light that’s completely unnecessary.

Welp! After getting it a few weeks ago, I finally got it mounted.

It's the SSO Slimline Hybrid bumper.

I ordered it bare metal so I could paint it myself. That includes a little personal touch.

I had it painted and ready but a family emergency came up and I had to put off the install for a bit.

The hardest part was taking the front apart, cutting the bumper cover, and putting the front back together. The bumper mounting was the easy part.
